My family of 4 was going into Hamilton (1:20 away) for an entertainment event. We checked online and found La Spaghett was close by and the menu looked great so I called and made a reservation. Wow! Am I ever glad we did!
Understand, I never leave reviews but I thought this was such a great experience that I’d share with those on fence.
Yes, the restaurant is dimly lit; which was fine and created a great atmosphere. It is not very big - which allows Rebecca to ensure each and every table is looked after to her satisfaction and catered to in a way a that sets it apart from chain restaurants. I found the waitress as well was very attentive and actually one step ahead our wants.
The food…. Wow! Rebecca said each of the pastas and sauces were made in house from scratch. I can tell , the meals we had were completely fantastic! There were 3 pasta dishes and the large Cesar salad. The Cesar salad was done very nice. Not overly dressed and lettuce nice and crisp. My son raves at the taste and the to-die for croutons. I know - it’s salad. In the pasta column we had Pollo Cacciatore, Sausage Arrabiatta and Shrimp Sorrento. Each had a different meat and a different sauce. They were each so good we had to sample them all. I don’t really know where to start. The Pollo Cacciatore was rich and so flavorful. The chicken breast was melt in your mouth and what my daughter described as the best chicken ever. The Shrimp Sorrento is an olive oil base, so not traditional in any respect. Fantastic! The shrimp were monsters in the fish and there were so many of them? Certainly did not skimp on this! My dish was the Sausage Arrabbiata. The spicy dish. This was incredible! I enjoyed this from the first bite until I was stuffed. I still had basically half of my meal to go - to take home and enjoy again! The sauce had a kick to it, but the flavors simply melted together in perfect harmony. The sausage too had to be home made. This is not your grocery store sausage or your chain restaurant pasta and pasta sauce! This was completely one off and special. This was the dish I was paying for!
So although we were in town briefly and this was the restaurant we decided on, this is now going to be a staple in our restaurants to visit. My wife has already said that La Spaghett is well with the drive for a fantastic meal!
Thank you Rebecca and La Spaghett for your wonderful hospitality and for one of the best dining experiences we’ve...
Read moreMy visit to La Spaghett Pasta House in Hamilton completely took me by surprise—in the best possible way. I found this gem on Google Maps while searching for pasta spots, and the glowing reviews and photos convinced me to give it a try. It turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
The funny part? I had already eaten dinner before I arrived. I wasn’t planning to eat much, maybe just try a bite or two—but once the food hit the table, everything changed. The aroma, the presentation, the first bite... I couldn’t resist. I ended up eating half of all three dishes, even though I was already full. That’s how good it was.
We ordered three different pastas: Nonna’s, which was rich, savory, and heartwarming with deep, comforting flavors; Pollo Tuscany, which had tender chicken in a creamy, herb-filled sauce that felt indulgent yet balanced; and Shrimp Sienna, which was loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp in a light garlic butter sauce that still packed so much flavor. Every dish had its own unique taste—nothing repetitive, nothing boring—and all of them were executed beautifully. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and you could taste the freshness in every bite.
The portion sizes were huge, easily enough for leftovers. But what really impressed me was the quality of the ingredients. Nothing tasted artificial or heavy—everything felt fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully made. I honestly wished I had brought my phone to take pictures because the food looked just as good as it tasted. It’s one of my biggest regrets from the evening—I truly wanted to capture it.
And just when I thought I couldn’t love this place any more, I got home and opened the takeout bags. Tucked in with my leftovers was a surprise dessert—a slice of chocolate cake and fresh strawberries. I hadn’t ordered it, and they never mentioned it when packing up the food. It was just a quiet, thoughtful gesture from the kitchen. That moment made me smile so much—I don’t even know how much more love I can fall into for this place.
This was my first visit, but it absolutely won’t be my last. The food, the portions, the freshness, the little surprises—everything about La Spaghett Pasta House made me feel like I had just discovered something truly special. If you’re anywhere near Hamilton, go. Just go. It’s hands down the best pasta I’ve ever had, and the experience as a whole was...
Read moreI’m super sad about my experience. I have been waiting a longgggg time to come to this restaurant. I came with my fiance to celebrate 4 years of dating before we getting married in a few months and our experience wasn’t what I was expecting. I have served myself for many years so I’m understanding to a degree - I’m not sure if they were short staffed but the servers could have used a 3rd person for sure. Once we got seated it took over 10 minutes to bring bread when the server said “here is more bread” as if we had already had some, we split the small bruschetta which wasn’t your traditional bruschetta and was a bit of an over kill on the cheese, my fiancés chicken parm was burnt on the bottom - a little too much sauce seeming as it they were hiding the burnt chicken, I had Tuscany chicken - chicken was cooked perfectly and the tomatoes were very flavourful but the mushrooms weren’t anything special and I loveeeee mushrooms. Pop isn’t refills - which is normal at some restaurants but should be put on the menu - his pop came with a ton of ice that probably wasn’t even half a can. The serve was very rushed as we had some time to “people watch”. We heard and saw a server saying to a table of 6 that the next guests had come for their reservation and they needed the table - not even 10 minutes before that the serves had brought them hot drinks - they didn’t seem impressed and felt rushed. When I booked my reservation I wasn’t told there was a time limit (which is also normal after Covid times). We choose not to get a dessert as we were full but were given a complementary dessert - other guests also received this so it wasn’t like a “sorry or anything” just a nice touch. I do want to come back and see if it was just an off night for them. Our bill was over $120.00 before tip. I just feel like there was a big hype about the restaurant as I have heard so many good things and the reviews are amazing. I’m hoping the staff was understaffed - I almost wanted to jump in and help the girls. I feel like they weren’t able to be personal and give it their all because they were making their own drinks, seating and busing their own tables - hoping this review get the ladies more help some it’s more relaxed and calming...
