I was deeply disappointed with my experience at Lobby Hamilton yesterday. From the service to the food quality, nearly every aspect of our visit fell short of expectations.
Our group of eight visited for a family brunch and were met with issues from the outset. Despite arriving around noon, we were informed that the restaurant had already run out of chicken for the chicken and waffles — a popular brunch item — even though the venue was not particularly busy. It’s concerning that a key menu item was unavailable so early in the day.
We then encountered issues with ordering coffee, as the Nespresso machine was not working and had to be restarted. In addition, there were very limited gluten-free options, which made it difficult for some of our group to find suitable meals.
When our food began to arrive, there was significant confusion from the staff regarding which dishes were which. Multiple items were misidentified, and at one point, meals had to be rearranged multiple times after servers provided conflicting information. For example, we were told that a sandwich was the "Lobby Royal," only to later be told it was actually the egg and bacon sandwich — this back-and-forth caused unnecessary disruption.
Further issues arose when one of the scrambled egg orders arrived undercooked despite being requested well done. Though a replacement was offered, the initial mistake added to an already frustrating experience. Additionally, the table space was inadequate for our party size. There was not enough room to comfortably fit all of the meals and beverages, which led us to remove empty items ourselves just to make space.
Unfortunately, the food itself did not redeem the experience. The quality and presentation were underwhelming. The Eggs Benedict lacked flavor, the cinnamon French toast was unappetizing, the shakshuka was bland, and the bacon was overcooked and dry. The overall consensus among our group was that the meal was disappointing and not worth the visit — some even remarked that a fast-food breakfast would have been preferable.
In summary, our experience at Lobby Hamilton was far from what we had hoped. The combination of poor service, operational disorganization, and subpar food quality makes it a restaraunt I would never recommend. Regrettably, I...
Read moreFirst time visitors today for our wedding anniversary. Reserved for 5pm. Our server Sabrina was amazing from start to finish. Very accommodating, friendly, and wonderful.
Various dining options- by the bar, high tops, or dining room area. Got offered to sit by the corner booth by the window. The seats were quite comfortable, only caution is that if the sun is still up that might get a little warm but we didn't mind it. Was a beautiful spot. Atmosphere felt if like a bar/lounge had an overgrown ceiling garden which oddly works. Music could've been better but probably not as good as if it was later in the night.
By chance we were there for happy hour which ended at 6pm. They had different options with reduced prices (on average about $2-4 off original price) for food and drinks. Good bang for your buck if you get the Caesar it's $8 during happy hour. The Orchidea was delicious but it was a little pricey. We also got mixed drinks for $5. All drinks we enjoyed had a decent amount of alcohol so no complaints there.
For an app we tried the crispy mushrooms. Unfortunately we were not a fan- it was a tad too oily for us and didn't agree with our stomachs. But, on the bright side that was the only downside of our meal. Our entrees were delicious. We had the octopus, their aioli was good and spicy. The potatoes that came with them were cooked perfectly and the pickled shallots definitely worked well with the dish. The rack of lamb (4 small chops) with the yogurt sauce and the cucumber and pomegranate salad was really delicious and was our favourite savory dish of the evening. And even if we were quite full already we still wanted to try a dessert- strawberry champagne cheesecake. We definitely did not regret having it, the strawberry was incorporated into the cheesecake and each bite was heaven. We would come back again, even just to have this cheesecake!
Thank you Lobby for a wonderful...
Read moreTLDR - delicious cinnamon hinted espresso martinis, phenomenal brussel sprouts, perfectly cooked octopus, refreshing watermelon salad. Excellent and fast service at 1pm on a Saturday, average atmosphere on the patio for that time.
Me and my friends went on a Saturday around 1pm. It wasn’t busy at all so service was fast. Our waitress whose name I think is Hannah, was welcoming and helpful with the menu. She checked on us just enough that it wasn’t overbearing but she was there if we needed her.
We did a couple rounds of espresso martinis. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing but they’re sprinkled with cinnamon with adds a little sweetness and an aromatic effect when drinking, they’re sooo good !
Food wise we got: steak, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, sliders, grilled octopus, watermelon salad.
My one friend liked her sliders. We all lovedddd the brussel sprouts, between Plank’s brussel sprouts (top tier) and Lobby’s I would say Lobby takes the cake here. The watermelon salad was also delicious, I do wish there was less liquid in it though. I try octopus any chance I get - Mademoiselle has been my number one with IOS coming in at second however I thought Lobby’s octopus was exceptional. Cooked perfectly, not too chewy and great flavour. The roasted potatoes that were included with it were also sooooo good. I would now suggest it over Mademoiselle. My other friend felt her steak was cooked a little more than medium rare but she still liked it
We sat on the patio and I would say the atmosphere was average for the time we went
My bill came to a little over $100 with a tip $40 for 2 rounds of martinis $20 for the watermelon salad $30 for the...
