I had asked for a Greek salad without Romaine lettuce. They had said they can't do that and it would cost me $15 just for the toppings. A true Greek salad consist of; Cucumber Tomato bell pepper red onion and Kalmata olives and Feta cheese. Why would I be charged more for a salad minus lettuce. That doesn't belong? The server could not offer me another option. She had to go to the kitchen to ask. In my professional and humble opinion, the kitchen was to (lazy) to make me a simple salad. Went across tothe B side. Found out it was the same owners, so we stayed for a beer and moved on.
During this transition from The pheasant plucker to B side .
Had a employee of the pheasant plucker argue with me in the street about my decision to not custom her establishment.
I am a chef of 25 years. If the kitchen could have accommodated one customer. For a correct salad. The Pheasant plucker would of had a $300 influx to their coffers. The email in the answer does not exist. Came back a year later and the uncharged me $7 on a $14 Greek salad to once again take the lettuce out. They gave me lots of red onions. Skimp feta. Canned sliced olives. Not kalmata a few pieces of green pepper the manager was drinking with her friends. My boyfriend had liver and onions and the liver looked like it was smashed into a snitzlel We were kinda of nice not to be charged for the coffee while having a brandy after dinner. Did not have cognac.. Still...
Read moreThe Pheasant Plucker proves to be a traditional pub with decent pub fare and selection of beer, but it's likely a place for casual gathering as opposed to a place to celebrate a special occasion.
Came here with my partner one Sunday in the late afternoon, which appeared to be a slow period for the restaurant. The decor looked somewhat tired and likely not a huge priority for management.
Our server was very friendly and welcoming. She provided a number of recommendations when I asked about the menu, and let me sample some beer before ordering. The pub has Guinness on tap (which is something I think a pub needs to have). We were told that the majority of the menu is made in-house from scratch. I ordered the Phez Burger while my partner had the Sunday special Roast Beef Dinner. The Roast Beef Dinner was decent, but didn't stand out as exceptional. The Phez Burger was more impressive. The beef was cooked well (juicy) and the toppings had a good balance of the flavours. The Burger held together and did not fall apart. The fresh cut fries were quite exceptional and crispy - I ate every single fry. I would go back just for the fries 😂
I think I'd recommend the Pheasant Plucker if you're looking to hang out with friends for beers and decent grub, but it might not be the place you'd go for the ultimate...
Read moreI had the absolute worst experience here with a waitress. She was very rude. One of the rudest women I have ever met in my life, not just in customer service but all around. She was an older waitress, Sunday night. I will never frequent here again. I have never been so offended in my life. The worst part is, it was a business meeting I was in. Did I mention I complained to the manager and my colleague and I were asked to leave because we asked to move our seats after a large, loud group of young individuals came in, clearly already intoxicated. They were so loud everyone was staring and annoyed a d there were lots of table in the other end of the pub. Just awful. I won't go there for social or business functions ever again. There are plenty of bars/resturants on Augusta that I would rather frequent. They questioned why I would have a business meeting in a pub, it was a Sunday afternoon. I can't remember if the food was good, but the drinks were over priced. It looks like a nice and spacious pub, but I have few experiences that make me rate something so low, I was appauled by the...
