Too many homeless people drinking and discarding their garbage everywhere. They urinate in plain view of children. Police should be monitoring this place more often I've seen people smoking cracking during the day here. Please tell me this isn't what hamilton wants people thinking of their downtown when they park to walk near fountain. It's a disgrace. Where is all our tax paying dollars going? Don't we want people to come here and see a city that's got potential?? Rather than it sticking to its stigma if being a cracking haven for the welfare and people living off social assistance.. I wouldn't want to invest into a place that already seems to have one foot in the grave of distane. At night people can't even enjoy the fountain because they might step on a needle or get harassed by the homeless for change so they can throw their empty bottle of booze and crushed beer cans.....

Moved to Hamilton from BC a month ago and this is the closest park to me. Would have loved to check it out but the presence of the houseless makes me feel very unsafe, especially when folks are yelling, openly drinking or doing drugs. Same goes for in front of Jackson Square. Sidewalk opposite Jackson Square always reeks of urine. Sometimes sections of the street smell of what I assume is drugs. I don't even walk that section of street outside anymore, just go through the mall. Feel unsafe waiting for #20 bus right across from the park at times too. What a hellhole. Right in front of the bank too. Hamilton or Ontarian government needs to snap out of it and help get these poor folks off the street for...

From the fountain to veterans way. The monument comemerating those for whom have given there lives in defence of these lands called Canada. I solute you one and all. For you men and women of the armed forces are our big brothers and sister that we call apon in times when we need to be defended. As a nation a people. That is the face to what our force should and put forth. Lest we forget. All to often we do. But not I Neville B. As I am aware of the plight's of your live. Stay strong for when we are weak. Thank you for all you do. Aman

This is a great park in downtown but parking is difficult to find. There is a parking lot on Hughson but the road is closed (As of Sep 2020). You can find a paid parking in a lot near Hughson and King Street, the rates are cheap. There is also street parking on Hughson, which is what we did. We went around 8 pm at night and there weren't that many people. Lots of benches and flowers. The fountain is nice.

This is a little oasis in the middle of downtown Hamilton. One can enjoy some cool breeze in the summer months bouncing back from the trees and from the more than a century old fountain. Folks working in the near by offices can come sit and enjoy their lunch while listening to music from various ballad singers. I was there today enjoying the fall colors.
