McDonald's — Restaurant in Hamilton

In June 2022 my wife and I were at the Macdonald's on Wilson Street west in Ancaster ontario. I decided to walk in to place my order to make sure it was correct. I placed an order for 2 egg white BLT SEAME BAGELS. THE YOUNG MAN AT CASH TAKING THE ORDER APPEARED TO BE NEW AND COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO PUT EGG WHITE IN THE ORDER AND SAID HE WOULD GO TO THE KITCHEN AND LET THEM KNOW. WHEN HE WENT TO INFORM THE KITCHEN OF THE ORDER I HEARD SOMEONE SAY WE DON'T DO THAT HERE. WHEN THE YOUNG MAN RETURNED TO INFORM ME OF WHAT HE HAD BEEN TOLD I ASKED HIM TO SEE THE MANAGER. A SECOND OR 2 LATER A GENTLEMAN APPEARED ASKING HOW CAN I HELP YOU? HIS NAME TAG SAID MIKE AND IDENTIFIED HIM AS GENERAL MANAGER. I ASKED HIM WHY I COULDN'T GET AN EGG WHITE BLT. HIS RESPONSE WAS WE JUST DON'T DO THAT HERE NO ONE DOES AND THAT WHEN THEY GET AN ORDER LIKE THAT THEY CRACK AN EGG AN COOK IT THATS IT. I INFORMED HIM THAT HIS STORE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT I'D EVER BEEN TO THAT DIDN'T DO EGG WHITES WHEN REQUESTED. HE TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO CALL AROUND TO FIND OUT IF ANY OTHER STORES DID THIS AND IF THEY DID, FIND OUT HOW TO MAKE AN EGG WHITE. I FIND IT INCREDIBLY IRONIC THAT A GENERAL OF A RESTAURANT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT AN EGG WHITE IS OR MORE IMPORTANTLY HOW TO MAKE ONE. IF THE GENERAL MANAGER DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS, HOW CAN HIS STAFF LEARN OR BE TAUGHT HOW TO MAKE...

Went in to eat hardly anyone on there. waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter to take my order because I was paying cash. The family I was with ordered from the do it yourself kiosk. When taking my order one girl made a sarcastic comment about how busy they were (1 family at 1 table and 2 people at another, no one in line and another couple ordering from the kiosk, only a few cars in the drive thru) and the other one replied with a comment that they just wanted to sleep. Waited 20 minutes for my meal the others waited 30 for theirs. Ketchup dispenser wasn’t working watched the entire staff try to put a new bag in after 20 minutes they just gave up. When they finally brought the food to the family they were noystmpathetc and gave them 2 apple pies said they were waiting on 2 more. Those never showed up. So much for “fast food”! What an awful place to go, no one cares about the customers they just care about when they get to go to bed. You can hear them all in the kitchen goofing off while you are waiting for some service. Definitely would not recommend unless you want to wait all day for some twice...

Follow up to my review yesterday of McDonald's Ancaster location.. I experienced AMAZING customer service from Pita Pit in Ancaster today. Pita Pit went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with a catering lunch. McDonald's should take a page from their play book on customer service. Was shorted a hash brown yesterday morning, bag was empty. Asked for a free one this morning and was treated like a beggar asking for food. I never got a receipt yesterday (also not in the bag) so I couldn't produce one. Manager basically accused me of lying. I received the worst customer service ever in my life. No sorry for our mistake, what can we do to fix it...just rude treatment. I have been through that drive thru every morning since they opened and will never return. Back to Tim's across the street. I am sad this McDonald's does not value customer loyalty or satisfaction. It would have only cost $1.89 to replace the hash brown. Not about the money for me put...
