Its incredible to walk into a place that feels like home. Hamilton is extremely lucky to have a family who took a leap and opened such an incredible space for the community. Every artist that is showcased, is a day an artist gets to feel seen. Feel heard. While enjoying a hot cozy beverage, you get to soak in all the love that surrounds you from the books on the wall to the artwork being displayed to the local businesses that are collaborating with Rooneys to provide food or experiances ( ice cold treats, fresh baked goods, pop ups, tin art, sammies, bagels, film drop off). It truly is what Hamilton needed. It is what the community needed. It is what the artists needed. The behind the scenes that goes on here to provide artist walks through the village, artist talks in the cafe, and the dialogue and relationships that occur for these to even take place. You have to stop here and see it...

Neighborhood...2/10 Fibe ...not cozie ... Basically get and go ... 2/10 The small batch roaster Detour only gets a 4/10...the Peruvian coffee is either not real Peruvian or they messed up with the roasting. Having had authentic Peruvian I would give it a 1/10 Cost...well rents are terribly high in Hamilton and with their limited space and offerings i guess they have to make money somehow. Cost is high for the quality and is on the higher end of the pricing. Never tried the food so no comment. If this place was downtown Toronto, Victoria, Halifax or Calgary it would be out of business due to higher quality roasteries with better atmosphere and pricing.
Guess Hamilton is getting into the Roastery cafe business 20yrs late.

Back for another Maple Latte and ginger cookie. This time, sitting on the cutest little patio they've built out back. Cozy and quiet it's a lovely little space for enjoying your coffee!

Fantastic first visit to Rooney's! Lovely little coffee shop with a great vibe. The owner is super friendly. Had a Maple latte, which was delicious.
