So, look at my reviews. Always 5 stars. Has to be terrible for 1. This was that. Started by opening the door and my two daughters and I stepping into a lady with glasses and blonde hair looking at us and looking away. No nice welcome. She then did something and said hi. We sat. Damage done. If you cant be hospitable in the hospitality industry, get a different job. She looked miserable.
Anyway, no one asked if we had been in before. No one asked us anything. It was my daughters birthday. I kept both out of school to have a day with them. As a hospitality person, I would have asked, no school today? Something. Anything. But no one cared.
Our food was soso but not good. My daughter didn't like the pancakes and my other daughter and I both disliked the bread and found the eggs to be eggs. We liked the bacon. Only thing.
When the server returned, she asked about experience. I told her while 1 lady at the bar counter listened and the other with the glasses behind the bar did as well. This was so upsetting to me. No one cared the server had to listen to how disappointed we all were. We got some hollow enjoy the day from the server but those other two just sitting there, terrible!
If one was the owner and the other a manager or something like this, your job is to support staff. To not jump in and say sorry or anything is terrible. My daughter goes to school right across the street. My other daughter did. I did way back. This is our neighborhood. I wouldn't buy a coffee from this place going forward nor will our friends after we share this story at her birthday party.
And again, look at my reviews. 95%, 5 star? Look at my experience in the industry, too. But this experience, we were that appalled from the moment we opened the door. My 7 year old said 1 star as well. We eat out all the time. We are happy. Ready to go. Ready to spend. But no hello. No caring. Wasn't busy. No excuses.
The 3 had fun laughing amongst each other and good for them but not only would we not come back, I would not recommend this place either. May be a first in over how many reviews I have done?
To conclude, we wanted to love it. I chose it for my daughters birthday brunch. Was a huge miss for us. The industry starts with guests care. Without it,...

..But made known my extreme frustration and disappointment in their lack of provision or response for an accessible entrance with a portable ramp and a wireless Doorbell to contact someone that I am trying to reach a waiter to take my order,’ as they do not have a phone or online set up to call or text in orders as of yet.
(In answer to your reply below)
I am a viable and compassionate advocate who feels compelled to stand up for myself and for others who feel powerless to approach situations like this. I have approached other local venues who are complying to upgrade their premises with an amicable and compassionate mindset.
Other venues like, Monster Donut has a higher step than you do and they have a wireless doorbell and a beautiful portable ramp to help wheelchairs safely enter their premises. Also, the Burnt Tongue on Locke, have installed a wireless doorbell from Amazon, for a mere cost of $10, upon my suggestion and it works beautifully.
My upcoming team will be advocating for more local venues to provide a safe entry into their venues. I am currently assembling a team of qualified and compassionate individuals to fulfill this mission at hand.
There is absolutely more than enough room to provide a simple portable ramp to accommodate an accessible and safe entry into your establishment.
The former venue “Rays Place”, (before you took over) was here for over 20 years and always provided a secure safe ramp for wheelchairs to be able to enter their premises. As I was a regular who attended their Karaoke nights with no issues, excuses or pushback.
I will call the landlord myself and make an amicable effort to deal with this. Since this is my desire to see every venue accessible going forward. I look forward to seeing this issue at hand executed with compassion.
This inaccessible access into venues is getting out of hand and has to be resolved with integrity and dignity people with limitations deserve, for the sake of enabling others to be able to enjoy our local culinary cuisines, cafes, restaurants and bars....
Read moreMy lovely girlfriend and I decided to check out Rosales Diner one Sunday morning after a recommendation from one of our chef friends, we were not disappointed one bit!
The place was packed when we got there (as a long time diner server, I knew that was a good sign). Melody, the person who greeted us, was an absolute delight. She let us know there would be a wait, took our names, and told us it would be about 15 minutes (spot on prediction, it was less that that!)
Our server, Lindsey, was also fantastic. Took our order quickly, and served us with a casual, friendly, professional attitude. Every single person working had a smile on their face too, it was lovely.
Breakfast was amazing! We both had classic breakfast plates which were delicious (I especially highlight the Russian coleslaw and tater tots, I could eat pails of those). My lovely lady also had a mocha milkshake, which was to die for and we ended our meal off with a Banana Sticky Toffee Pudding which was equally brilliant.
At the end of our meal, they gave us this little digital camera to take pictures of each other, the restaurant, and whatever else we wanted. I’m not sure if this is a common practice of theirs, but I loved it!
I don’t know how this place isn’t headlined in Hamilton’s best restaurants, but it should be. Hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten (and my family owned a diner for 37 years). Bravo to the folks at Rosales, we’ll happily...
