Speedy Subs — Restaurant in Hamilton

After a long day in the ER, I got out at 11:45pm, tired and hungry. Saw that this place was open till midnight but wasn’t optimistic with how many places start closing up well before they close, and how some even close early. Walked in about 11:50 and was greeted cheerfully, which surprised me since I was half expecting them to be annoyed at someone coming in right before close on a weeknight. The menu was a bit tough as I avoid meat but that was more than made up for by the excellent prices and amazing, friendly customer service. I was going to be stuck at home sick so I got a large sub and large Greek salad to have some leftovers. Generous sized salad and great sub and it was under $20. I’d been in Subway downtown a few weeks earlier to see a 6 inch sub going for over $10!! You don’t see this level of friendly customer service as much these days, it was clearly the owner working and it was so refreshing to see a restaurant owner who seemed to enjoy customers and making food for them. Only negative thing which was minor - bread wasn’t as fresh as some of the other places and there weren’t the options - to be expected with a small non -franchised place - it was not stale or bad - just not like right out of the oven tasting like some other places. For the prices and great customer service, this will be my new go-to place more - even if it’s out of the way. Thank you Speedy Sub guy - great customer service and prices do...

Could not be happier with my experience here, the staff was super friendly, she made my sub very speedy, the prices are actually amazing, in a world of overpriced everything this place is a breath of fresh air, $6.49 for a footlong sub! All the toppings were fresh and tasty, the most important one to me is the tomatoes, they are actually fresh and not way too cold/half frozen like most sub places.

I am very happy with everything, 10/10, I will be back here 100% for the foreseeable future. I love you

Stopped by Speedy Subs in Hamilton for a quick bite. The place is small and no-frills with very affordable prices, definitely a win if you’re just looking to fill up without spending much. The ingredients were surprisingly fresh, but the flavours were pretty average.

Despite the name, it took over 20 minutes to get our order which was disappointing. The staff weren’t particularly friendly and the woman behind the counter was especially unpleasant to deal with. It made for an awkward experience.

One thing that really stood out in a bad way was the hygiene. Watching meat being warmed up in a microwave and seeing the same utensils used across multiple subs without cleaning is not reassuring at all.

Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re on a tight budget but don’t expect fast service or top-tier...
