I visited Dino's on a recent work trip and I enjoyed my experience there. After a long morning of meetings and talking with customers, I wanted a place that was inviting but not too noisy, something that the locals enjoyed not just for the food but as a place to meet friends, eat, and talk. I happened to find Dino's and was not disappointed.
The vibe is that of an old diner someone had rejuvenated. It's mostly booth seating with tables of 2 or 4 with nice overhead lighting. The booth was clean, as was the rest of the restaurant, and there was ample room--even for a bigger guy like me.
The waitress was pleasant and efficient, and seemed to know a few regulars, which is always promising to see in a restaurant. She gave me a quick run down on the specials and didn't go on and on about it. I don't need a story when I'm ordering food--a quick description and the price, thank you very much.
For lunch, I ordered a garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette to start and took the fish and chips as the main. The salad was fresh and green with sliced cucumbers, tomato wedges, and red onion. The fish was a generous portion and the batter was thin and crispy, just the way I like it. Top marks!
The fish came with a nice cole slaw, tar tar sauce, a lemon wedge, and fries which were thick cut and crispy. The reminded me of the thick cut fries I used to order from the chip trucks that rolled through my neighbourhood as a kid. I ordered gravy on the side which was thick and beefy. Superb!
Overall, the experience at Dino's was just the break I needed in the middle of the day. If I'm ever in Ingersoll again, I will be sure to drop in and enjoy...
Read moreWent just after lunch time on a Friday, was a bit busy but not crazy, we only saw the 1 server and she was very busy. It took a bit of time to have our order taken and to get our food but with just the 1 person it was understandable, not sure why they only had 1 person but she did a great job was friendly and when we asked questions she helped even with how busy she was, she even brang coffee refills around a couple times. My husband had the patty melt it wasn't what I would call a traditional patty melt but he thought it was great, the bite I had was nice had thousand island dressing on it. It was a generic frozen burger but we'll cooked. The fries were a little under for my liking and frozen. The chicken burger was great served on a nice bun a good size with tomato, lettuce and perfect amount of mayo. It was a frozen breaded chicken breast but it was pretty good. Onion rings were good and the portion of both the fries and onion rings was good. The gravy was yum. Over all we enjoyed our meal wasn't fireworks but we both left happy and will go back. Prices seem a little high but that's what's been...
