Living the life KamloopsLiving the life Kamloops
I would like to start out that I have lived in kamloops for 17 years and this is my first bad review of a restaurant. My husband wanted to be the hero and bring us home Thai food which is lacking in kamloops, we were both tired from work. We did have a wonderful Thai restaurant on the north shore but unfortunately they moved back to Thailand. We were very excited to try this restaurant. Well as you can see by the pictures it was lacking in portions to say the least (we paid $35) the green curry was not creamy and lacking flavour, the coconut rice was lacking coconut and the 4 spring rolls we got were out of a box and overly deep fried. So yes as we know COVID has been hard on these restaurants so we called and explained that we were disappointed. He said that I have never had Thai green curry and I didn't know what I was talking about. I informed him (the manager) that indeed I did and said I spent 2 years in Thailand. He asked me where and I named off at least 5 places I have been to. He was shocked and said well this is how we make it and too bad we didn't like it. We are very decent people he could of offered a different dish or something but the customer service was terrible. We will never return and will be sure to let everyone we know to stay away!!! P.S. I never asked for free food I asked for him to make it right. Read the other reviews of the green curry it's terrible. I support local I'm a good person. This man was arrogant and and does not care about customer service or the quality of his food!! My advice is to Pinterest authentic green curry and make it yourself. There were 3 pieces of chicken a few pieces of veggies. Lack of service and quality makes this a bad choice considering what amazing restaurants are available on kamloops.

Restaurant Name: Krob Krua Thai Restaurant Address: 298 3rd Avenue, Kamloops, BC, V2C 3M3 Krob Kru Thai is a delightful Thai restaurant that brings Thailand's flavors to Kamloops. With its amazing ambiance, friendly staff, and a menu compiled with authentic Thai dishes, it has become a beloved fine dining destination for locals, mainly students and visitors alike. The restaurant is family-oriented, and I have visited this place with my family. We ordered Tom Khaa, Pad Thai chicken, Kao Pad Gai, Goong Nam Prik Pao, and other cold Beverages. The total bill for this was 96.25 CAD. Every dish was superb, and each platter could be shared with three people; there was something to satisfy every craving. The restaurant's interior is thoughtfully designed to transport diners to the vibrant streets of Thailand, and it reminds me of Thai tradition. Decor elements such as Thai artwork, traditional wooden furnishings, and warm lighting create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for everyone visiting the place. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner for two or a gathering with friends and family, Krob Kru Thai provides a comfortable setting, and I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Overrated, overhyped and overpriced!! Despite the hype, the overall experience was far from satisfactory. The Thai curry (doesn't come with the rice), which should be a highlight, turned out to be a waste of money. Having tasted Thai curry at numerous places, I was shocked when the manager dismissed our concerns, insisting that's how it's made. It was disappointing to encounter such a dismissive attitude towards customer feedback. Thai curry and the soup had same thickness. While the soup flavour was commendable, the disproportionate ratio of vegetables, particularly mushrooms, overshadowed the broth. What's more concerning is the apparent lack of interest from the staff in ensuring customer satisfaction. Our server appeared disinterested and somewhat biased, which further dampened the dining experience. Experienced stomach issues afterward. Eat at your own risk. Not recommended.

Came here on a Friday evening around 7PM, was seated in a booth. I had looked at the menu online before we went, so I was surprised not to see pad kee mao on the menu. I asked about it and was told their menus in the restaurant get updated every year so it's not on there but they do make it. I also asked what other dishes aren't on their menu in the restaurant and was told basil stir-fry with chicken and a dish that tastes like pad kee mao. We decided to get pad kee mao and basil stir-fry with shrimp. Then we proceeded to wait probably half an hour for the food to finally get to us, that was pretty ridiculous. The waiter came by once to tell us our food is coming but it really wasn't at that point. When it did come, there was no apology. The pad kee mao was definitely not pad kee mao - it was cooked using pad thai noodles (thin rice noodles) as opposed to flat wide rice noodles, and the flavor was basically black pepper with ginger. That is not pad kee mao. It tasted fine, but it's not pad kee mao. The basil stir-fry was so watery and the portions were small, just had maybe 7 shrimp, some green beans, onions, and carrots. The flavor was fine, but it was so so so watery. I was not very happy with this place at all. The bill came out to be around C$30 which is fine, but definitely would not...
