Not one to write a bad review but felt this was necessary. My husband and I usually visit for the all you can eat sushi. In the past it's been really great and we've had nothing but great experiences thus far. The other day, Saturday night to be exact, we decided to go for sushi so we headed to our favourite spot. Once we ordered we realized they increased the price for the all you can eat by $2 for dinner which puts us close to $50 after taxes for two people. No big deal, we understand prices go up and they have to adapt.

The issue was the quality of the sushi. We ordered our usual and instead of the normal shredded crab in the rolls they've opted for the larger chunks of artificial crab, between the size of a dime and nickel. I was slightly put off about it but tried anyway and it was horrible. Absolutely disgusting. Even the salmon they are using now is the lowest quality. So they've not just increased the prices but lowered the quality of food to the cheaper stuff.

We brought this up to both servers that we were severely disappointed with this meal. All they could offer was a meek apology. After we said something the server left us sitting at the empty table for nearly 10 minutes after requesting our cheque. We Thought maybe they were discussing our experience or something. Nope. They still charged us full price for sushi we could hardly eat. No "I'm so sorry, here's a -insert service recovery-". That could have salvaged our outing. Normally we would do two or three 'rounds' but we left after the first one. After going to this location multiple times throughout the years (at least once a month if not more) we left feeling cheated and sick. The quality was horrendous. It's a shame since this was a favourite location but they have definitely lost at least two loyal customers.

Told my family about the experience as well and they won't be back either. If they go back to the quality ingredients from before maybe we will back. Not until things change.

Don't up your prices and lower the quality of food! That is terrible...

You get what you pay for so expect it's not going to be the best meal of your life. The food was okay but I wouldnt suggest this is the place for a special date. Limited menu for all you can eat sushi, ends up all being pretty same old same old after a bit. If you enjoy the standard grocery store selection of sushi, then you'll be satisfied. Service was painfully slow. Had to flag down server more than once including actually leaving the table to track someone down. Table beside us had the same experience. The way all you can eat is set up, you need to have the servers attention many times throughout your meal. Servers seemed to be focused on busy work getting dishes and cups and wiping down tables instead of the customers. All you can eat means you can order from a special menu up to 3x , 10 items per time per 2 people. We were certainly full by the second round. Good value for money but it took forever to finish lunch, over an hour, and most of the time is spent waiting, either waiting for your next order form, waiting for them to come pick it up or waiting...

Used to be my favourite restaurent in Kamloops. Me and my friends are not going back there after tonight. They failed to give us the right food or the quantity we orderd, on top of that they made us wait for 2 hours + for the food. They were too busy serving food to skip the dishes, and pretty much avoided serving food to the people who were waiting go the food. At a point we had too much, so decided to leave. Since it was taking too late and we did not get the right food the server apolozised and told that he would talk to the person in-charge to do something about the bill. He was denied and we ended up paying the full bill. Only because of the server's good behaviour we did not say anyting. This one star goes to the guy who helped us tonight. The restaunet deserves 0 star for...

Welp, we tried the big fancy asian fusion place that was recommended to us when we cane to town...and the next day we came here. Yes, we are sushi fanatics, and I can confidently say that in that regard, the last place couldn't hold a candle to this one! Fast, friendly and freaking delicious, we came for a quick bite and stayed for feast! (And we even ordered some additonal food for lunch tomorrow.) No, you can't get all you can eat anymore, no it isn't the place with the trendy, snazzy atmosphere, but is good food and good people and at the end of the day, those are the things that make Royal Tokyo a definite place worth going to. (Plus look how pretty they made the green tea ice cream!)

I came here specifically to try the all-you-can-eat menu. Although I don’t eat a lot, I love the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes in an all-you-can-eat setting. Unfortunately, they no longer offer this option, so I decided to give it a try anyway. I ordered the miso soup, tuna and salmon sashimi, negitoro cone, spicy tuna cone, and California roll. For some reason, I only received a tuna sashimi, but I decided it wasn’t worth the hassle to complain. To my surprise, it was all very good. The miso soup was nicely flavoured, the sashimi slices were decent, and the cones and roll hit the spot. I would highly recommend this place for sushi.

I have ordered take out from here many times, always good sushi. Today, was horrible and will not order again. The driver was not even slow, food was hot. Gyoza's were delicious. The ramen was overpriced soggy slop! All the breading on the chicken was sogged into the noodles, broth should have been separate. Tasted like it had been sitting. Lot of money for such poor quality.
