La Diperie Kamloops — Restaurant in Kamloops

Friendly service but an overall disappointment. First of all, dippin dots were the cause for the initial trip to LA Diperie as they were advertised on the website. I did not see them listed on the menu, so I asked the lady behind the counter, and she was beyond bamboozled. She told me yes, they have dips (for the ice cream) and did not know what I was talking about. * Upon looking at the site further - when you click on dip and dots it then takes you to another screen which says "at select locations" which does NOT include kamloops.* There was two visible ants on the counter amongst many crumbs, sprinkles etc, they were out of anything in the cooler that was made by cheesecake factory, and sold out of all the frozen bobba offerings, the cherry smoothie and several other items. In the end, we opted for one vanilla milkshake and one chocolate milkshake. They were the consistency of milk and disappointing in flavor. They were made with soft serve ice cream and milk - the chocolate one had chocolate syrup mixed into it. They did not have whipped cream on either of them (as they are advertised with whipped cream) and came to $14.60 for the two milkshakes. (Including taxes)

The door was closed with a sign reading "please use other door", which was the mucho burrito entrance. We had to shuffle thru the group of girls who were ordering, to the "line starts here" which was an awkward maneuver due to the tables being so close. I'm not sure why the door was closed as it makes much more sense to have it open, and allow the flow of traffic to enter accordingly.

Again, I'd like to emphasize that the staff was friendly and smiling, happy to answer all questions. She even apologized for not having the dippin dots even tho in no way shape is...

Really yummy desserts. They have several options, including many flavors of dipped soft serve cones, hard ice cream, something that resembles a blizzard, milkshakes and more. From the outside you can't tell but it's the same building as the mucho burrito restaurant. Despite there being just one person in the restaurant that we could see, the girl was very attentive and served us quite fast. A second person came from the back to help her which was really nice and I'm glad she wasn't working alone. The ice cream was a little melty but honestly it was super delicious. I opted for a vanilla cone that was dipped in milk chocolate with salted nuts on the outside. My daughter opted for us. Flavored dipped soft served cup and she really enjoyed that as well. The other two went for the blizzard type dessert, one for Oreo and the other w Skor. It was all very yummy. The staff seemed busy so it would be hard to pick on them, but it seemed the restaurant must have been busy during the day because it could have used a bit of a cleanup. I hope the staff get the...

A lot of items on the menu had stickers on them that said they were out of it. There seemed to be two staff working but neither of them were attentive. Both were in the back talking and one was washing dishes. The guy worker left to go to the mucho burrito side as someone came in and the person in the back was still washing dishes. I was in plain sight of the person washing dishes. It took some time to actually get served. I ordered the Le Rocher. I was told there was no Belgium chocolate so I could either get dark chocolate or the s’mores one. After creating the bowl, there was no caramel drizzle added. It was just the melted chocolate and almond bits. My friend ordered a milkshake, however it seemed like the staff was new or didn’t know how to make it so we had to wait again for the other staff to jump in and make it for him.

I don’t believe it should’ve taken 20 minutes to actually get served until the milkshake was made and both items were paid for. It wasn’t like it was even busy in there at the...
