We came last year during a road trip & found the food and service to be decent. Came back this time since it is one of the few halal options in Kamloops & were quite disappointed. Apparently the owner/operator is pursuing some Guiness record, so there were a bunch of her family/friends there talking amongt each other. Wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't such a glaring lack of service. We had to wait several minutes and approach the group to be seated and given a menu. Menu had only a small handful of items available at the time, which were way too overpriced for the quality and quantity of food we were given. Like the chicken leg was broken and not even a full peice. We kept having to ask the server for basic things like water (even though resteraunts usually bring it themselves), napkins & utensils. Just not a good experience overall. I understand the Guiness thing was for a good cause, but if you're going to overlook paying customers & provide bad service, you'll drive them away. We were left so confused by the lack of service and hospitality. Washrooms were dirty as well. Won't...
Read moreTHIS IS CONCERNING I am Nigerian and know what crayfish looks like as I am a mother of 5 and cook egusi with crayfish almost everyday as it is my traditional food. Note that crayfish does not have thick BLACK HAIR. It is brown red ish in color. And I have ordered this same egusi more than 15 times since they opened which is how much I love it and never found human hair until this happened. I spotted two piece of hair while eating this 🤢. Now am worried how many hair I digested. Meat was VERY STRONG I threw them in the garbage as they felt so raw and like cardboard box. I realized the quantity and quality of food deteriorated. For $30 including tip this was the most unhygienic, poor quality food I have ever had in my life. THE THICK HAIRS IN THE FOOD? Gosh if only I noticed earlier, there is no chance I would have even eaten it to the point I did. Hopefully I don't get sick. Owner claiming this is crayfish and not taking accountability is sicking...
Read moreThe staff at the restaurant were very welcoming when we entered and very friendly. We ordered Egusi with fufu, the Jollof rice, and Rasta pasta. The pasta is spicy and the spice level was ok for all of us. The Jollof rice is also tasty and the chicken thigh was well cooked and flavourful. The Eugsi stew part was very good and the tripe and tendons were great, but I found the meat part a little too tough to chew. I found the Egusi and Fufu pretty authentic if you want to try it. The Egusi was so good I had to order takeout for my partner to bring back to Vancouver. They also gave us a small portion of the Puff Puff to try and it was mediocre for me. Depending on how adventurous you are, I would definitely recommend the Egusi, then the Jollof rice, then the Rasta pasta from the...
