I took my family on a “Guess Where Trip” called butter tart trail. We were on are last stop of the day and we’re hungry and saw Daylight Diner across the street from where we parked. Being from Brampton and being city folk we assume all restaurants are open all day so we didn’t look at the hours. We were greeted promptly and were seated immediately. We placed our order and it seemed like five minutes went by and we had our food. My wife and daughter ordered breakfast at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. My son got chicken fingers and fries and I got a burger and fries. My burger was delicious and the fries were great. No one had a complaint about the food which is unusual for my family. We got the bill and the cost was very reasonable for the amount of food we got. As we walked out I turned to the door and saw them closing for the day. I looked at the hours and saw they closed at two and it was two thirty by the time we left. If we were in Brampton we would’ve be told we’re closed. Thank you so much for feeding us on your own time much appreciated. We’ll be back if we’re ever in the area. During regular business hours next time.

The table service is amazing, our server was great and the food was good except for the potatoes that were cold, and barely cooked. My husband refused his as he had asked for well done potatoes, but we heard the cook tell the server that they could not be put back on the grill because they wouldn't cook any further, which for both of us having cooked in restaurants, we know is not accurate. They would have been acceptable for me if they were actually at least warmed right thru, but they were cold and ruined the rest of his and my breakfast. At another table another woman got her breakfast and felt the same way and shared that with us. For me the worst part was that the cook refused to even try, sad. We won't be back.

On my first visit to Bobcaygeon (from Saskatoon), we chose to have dinner here and I'm glad. Our waitress was fantastic, with fast, friendly service. It was a pleasant, clean space to eat in. Our food was delicious. My friend had the perogies and it was a much larger portion than we anticipated. I narrowed down my choices to the fish burger or the Rueben; the waitress recommended the fish burger. It was a breaded square filet, so quite basic but it tasted good and the portions were perfect. No refill on my lemonade but that's okay. PS: I believe this establishment usually closes earlier in the day but they stayed open later because there was a Jim Cuddy show in town that night.

This dinner fits the town it's in something out of movie or TV show. It just remind you of growing up in a small come to breakfast sharing the events and going on in the town the host Sara was so friendly as found everyone there seats regulars came and got there meals and she made her rounds chating with the patrons and ask if they wanted jam for toast and joked around with everyone. Are sever was so friendly made sure everything was right at our table the food was everything you'd want from a breakfast dinner my son love his pancakes and my corn beef on rye was the perfect amount of meat with just enough mustard on the leave It just enough heat to pull it together in a pretty darn good sandwich. I'll be even better review once I can try there Reuben which is my favorite sandwich will be going back the next time I'm...

I had the worst “grilled cheese” sandwich — at least that’s what it was called on the menu — I’ve ever had in my life! It was just cold toast (not grilled with butter on the outside of the bread) with 1 slice of semi-melted, what looked like orange Kraft “rubber” cheese inside. It was dry as a bone! Not only that but the slices of toast were from a tiny sized bread loaf. Lol It was actually awful. I had a better grilled cheese sandwich at a restaurant in Egypt when I was there last month. Now that’s just sad! And my partner’s vegetable omelette should have been called an “onion omelette” with a few other veggies. He was not happy with it at all. Sadly, we won’t be returning — it was a fave for brunch when it was Shaker’s Diner...
