New joint, nice location, great service, but food lacks in taste. There are various things I would like to point out. Firstly, gol gappe (pani puri) tasted miserable. Sweet (meetha pani) was not sweet enough, and spicy water wasn't spicy at all. In fact, it lacked basics like salt and lemon. It was simply bland and I was very disappointed. When asked the staff about it, he said that some find it spicy hence it's made like that, to cater all. It's an Indian dish and should be made as it's expected to be. Second comes, dahi puri, which was good, but the stuffing could be a bit more. It was less filled as I could taste puri more. Third was spicy paneer momos. It was indeed spicy but came with mayo sauce, not sure why? Pics on google show momos with schezwan sauce that is posted by you, and you are serving it with some other mayo kind of sauce, what, why? But Kush got me the schezwan sauce when asked, and it was good. I personally found the stuffing less in it, too. Next comes Kashmiri Kahwa, with a teabag. Really? You make the tea with the leaves, steep and serve, and not just dump a teabag and serve the tea in a restaurant. Moreover, tea bags contain plastic, why would you use that? I tore the bag and added the leaves to the cup. And lastly, it was cheesy french fries. I personally dont like fries, but this was the best fries I had surprisingly. I didn't expect much from it, but it was good, but having said that, they used some kind of cheese sauce and not real cheese for cheesy fries, I believe. Overall, this place lacks good food, also lacks space, just 3 tables inside. We had to wait 15 mins to get the table. However, the service by Kush was exceptionally good. He was the most polite, respectful, and friendly guy I have come across. He is an asset to your joint. They also have some games to play, which is a nice touch. We did play carom! Also, the chairs weren't comfortable. I know it must be a lot to take, but I am just being honest, and you could use this as feedback...
Read moreA Delightful Culinary Experience at ChaiTainment
My girlfriend and I recently had the pleasure of dining at ChaiTainment on Lakeshore Road in Kelowna, and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a fantastic meal.
We decided to try the Butter Chicken Sandwich and the Paneer Sandwich, and both were simply outstanding. The Butter Chicken Sandwich was rich and flavorful, with tender chicken enveloped in a perfect blend of spices. The Paneer Sandwich, on the other hand, was a delightful vegetarian option that did not disappoint; the paneer was soft and well-seasoned, creating a harmonious balance of flavors.
We also indulged in the Spicy Paneer Bites, which were a real treat. The perfect level of spice combined with the crispiness of the bites made them an irresistible appetizer that we couldn’t get enough of.
Our server was incredibly helpful and friendly, making our first visit to ChaiTainment an even more enjoyable experience. They took the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations, which we greatly appreciated. Their attentive service and genuine enthusiasm for the food made us feel right at home.
Overall, ChaiTainment exceeded our expectations in every way. The delicious sandwiches, the inviting atmosphere, and the exceptional service all contributed to a memorable dining experience. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly...
Read moreSo I noticed this little Eatery spot as I was driving down Lakeshore and at that moment I was thinking to myself how much I was craving a hot cup of chai because it's been a year since I left India and I swear once you drink chai it's in your system for the rest of your life.
I took a moment to look at the menu and when I saw that they had not only chai but exotic different kinds of different flavored chai I knew I had to stop in and try this place.
For my first visit I tried the pink chai which really truly is Pink and has the most delicious pistachio added to the drink think of this like India's version of the bubble tea!!
It was the most subtle flavor yet a very distinct high-end flavor of chai tea and truly the most beautiful bubblegum pink color with the wonderful accident of crunchy chewy pistachio.
My go-to drink on a cold Winter's day has always been drive through McDonald's for hot chocolate but after I tried the Chai at chitainment I will go through McDonald's drive-thru never again!!!
I will be back again chitainment and I will be trying each and every one of your delicious beverages and I will definitely be trying your butter chicken poutine!!
Can't wait till my next fly by visit to fill my chai cravings!!!
Missing India...
