Zabb Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Kelowna

It is one thing when you get bad service and it's another when you get disrespectful service. Unfortunately my first experience with this restaurant was the latter. I came in to place a take out order. It was relatively busy but nothing crazy. I walked up to the front counter and had to wait a bit, no worries. After about 5 minutes a blonde younger waitress finally approached me and made eye contact. I was simply attempting to place 1 simple order for 1 item when she abruptly cut me off mid way and told me to wait in the most rude way possible. She obviously was too flustered by the 3 bills she had to handle and the 2 ipads she had to operate. Clearly too much for her, not going to make it in a larger restaurant if she can't handle what I saw. She continued to ignore me even though she approached the counter a second time. Just plain rude and disrespectful. Even if I did walk in at a bad time there is no need for the disrespectful way of treating someone waiting to order. I'm sure the food is good but this place isn't getting my money, not now and not ever. If a manager reads this then they should definitely address the attitude issue this girl had. I was there May 30th at around noon and the girl was blonde. Talk to her because her career in the service industry won't last if that's how she talks to people in the restaurant.

I have been to Zabb many times and am usually happy with the food and service, but when I made a reservation there a couple weeks ago I was incredibly disappointed with the experience. We arrived with an extra person (6 instead of 5, my mistake) which didn’t seem to be an issue as there were enough seats at our table as is, but the waitress who sat us made us feel unwelcome and burdensome. All seemed fine until after we ordered and dishes began being served. One arrived and was extremely cold, as if it had been in the fridge. When we alerted the server, she didn’t say a word, took it away with an eye roll, proceeded to microwave it, and then return it without saying anything again. It then took about 5 minutes for the next dish to be served and so on, so by the time the last person has got their food the first person was almost done which seemed quite disorganized. Our server did not return to see how anyone else’s dishes were after they were delivered and didn’t bother to refill any drinks. In the time that we were sitting there we saw her tell two parties that were wanting seats that they did not have enough space for them, which is completely understandble, but she did so in a very rude, abrasive way which we could see was noted by those customers as well. visiting my bf in kelowna for his birthday & decided to take him here. it has nice warm lighting that's good for dates (;

chicken is golden & perfectly crispy, peanut sauce is buttery good♡

chicken panang curry, delicious! we had to order mild due to my bf not handling spice well, but i personally think it would've been better at hot spice level to enhance the flavor of the curry. also, i felt the amount of the curry was a tad bit small compared to the amount of chicken.. which they are generous with:)

pork basil, reminds me of the authentic taste in thailand. absolutely love! i must've missed that they offer fried egg with it on the menu, but that is a must!!!

for dessert i got the deep fried icecream & i told the server it was my bf's bday & they put a candle for us! thank you so much♡! also it's so yummy, it's like this deep fried bread on the outside & vanilla? icecream on the inside with chocolate syrup drizzled all over. it's a combination that just can't not be good.

everyone is very sweet, welcoming, & accommodating! when i asked if they sold bottles of water, they said no.. but they could give me a cup of water to go! 🫶

also, i saw this asian grandma come out of the kitchen.... & i knew she was the og chef right here. i bet she's the one holding the secret family recipes! this place is legit😂❤️
