We had a group of 5 staying in the hotel next door and decided to order from De Dutch for breakfast one morning. After running into issues with their online ordering system (totally understandable, that’s outside of the staff’s hands) we placed our order through the phone and were told 45min-1hr wait time. Two of us waited the hour and walked over to find the restaurant extremely busy. We checked in with the hostess who was doing an admirable job dealing with the volume of walk ins and pick ups and proceeded to wait another hour, checking in several times with the hostess who was apologetic and frazzled, claiming that the kitchen was overwhelmed and refusing to give her updates about the food. We wanted to be patient and understanding but two hours wait time was outrageous and we asked to speak with the manager. At this point a new staff member came out and confirmed our names for our order, she then said that our food had been sitting waiting for us and that no one had let her know we were here. We knew this was false as we had watched our poor hostess try to manage everything going on and this new staff member was trying to throw her under the bus. Regardless, after over 2 hour since placing our order we got our food, which at this point was cold, missing several small items/alterations, and my omelet had been burnt. We understand things happen, apps fail, and places may be short staffed as we’ve all worked service jobs before. But the utter lack of organization and communication from management to the other staff franticly trying to run their restaurant and then trying to throw them under the bus was just unacceptable and i would not recommend this particular De Dutch to anyone...
Read moreI hate to love this place... Its complicated. Their staff super friendly and atmosphere is great. However their food is hit and miss and when they miss... dear god! As an example my kids like boiled eggs, sausage and pancakes. We visited in the beginning of summer ordered this combination for them. We ended up with two plates one for my son the other for my daughter along with our food. My sausages were raw and cold after 45 minutes waiting along with my cold eggs beni. My sons sausages arrived cold and undercooked, but the kicker was his eggs! It was just slightly warm to the touch, when my wife went to crack it open it bursts open and was completely raw and ruined his plate! Not undercooked but raw eggs, you know the type Rocky drinks raw. Now you would think they would offer us a free plate for the little guy but instead they just offered scrambled because to reboil would require a new plate and new sausages and toast and potatoes. Never went back since but do miss their food when it was good. I might try the further...
Read moreAttempted to eat here about 10 or more times now. Will be our last time today, enough is enough. Food was cold cause it took so long to come out, as usual. They forget to give you everything , your jams, your syrup, your ketchup. Your coffee and tea will take almost as long as your food to show up. Unless you like cold food, lazy forgetful staff and super long waits, I suggest driving further down the road to the other De Dutch, they won’t treat u so poorly. I would suggest to the owner to switch staff from the other location to this one, since this one is in the right location to make more money, just need better staff, like you have at the other one.. Ironically however the owner was present today and she did not do a thing or even notice her staff are messing everything up for her. Also ironic, I believe our server was the manager, who was forgetting everything, took forever for our drinks, and brought us cold food, since she was the only one not wearing the colours of the rest...
