One of, if not my second favorite restaurant. I've attended numerous lunches and dinners here, upon satisfying release of food and tea, always enjoying it. Although, it was kind of ruined this one visit. I don't know what the main 'owner' I think he is, I don't know his name, he has sharp black spiky hair, asian, was always friendly. My mother and I came in to order lunch, and my mom proceeded to order the same thing as I do everytime, and he told us that they don't do that. My mother is a DIABETIC, and she used to be able to eat rice. It wasn't until a year ago that she found out she couldn't eat rice, she just wanted the same meal we always get without rice.... how hard is that to achieve? So for years, we had it done the same way, and than this one day things changed real rapidly, and he would not accomodate my moms order of removing the rice. Secondly, he was very ungrateful and placed our cups and plates down HARD on the table and didn't even say anything, just walked away after we had both said 'thank-you'. And this was with everything, the Tea, Miso Soup, it was just right out aggressive like he was mad at us. It was rather unexpected, to be honest, since we have spent hundreds of dollars contributing to their 'company'. I didn't find it professional what so ever, and still don't. Everyone else that he had spoken to near our table, it was in a calm matter, very relaxed and composed, but with us, it was very neglective and honestly, extremely uncomfortable. Made me really upset considering this is one of my favorite restaurants. I don't get why we deserved to be treated that way, but, I hope it's not something that will occur again, as it was extremely...
Read moreVery upset with the service I JUST EXPERIENCED!
I went to Taki Japanese Grill for my second time. I came across an extremely rude and smug employee. When my girlfriend and I entered the restaurant the server didn't bother to show us to a seat. When we sat down at one of the "Japanese style" booths the man shouted from across the room "Don't sit there!". I'm guessing he hadn't cleaned it yet. We took a seat at the second booth and he shouted "take your shoes off!" My girlfriend saw him shaking his head with attitude, as if he was annoyed that I didn't know the rules. Nobody showed us to our table, so how were we supposed to know? A female server came and showed us the menu. She was very friendly, and the food was nice. While eating, we noticed this guy moving quite fast and forceful around the restaurant. When I went to the counter to pay, she handed the bill over to the same rude employee. It costed 15.10, and I gave him a twenty dollar bill, + some coins so I could get a whole five dollar bill back. He counted the money and asked how much change I wanted. I told him five dollars, and he said "You could have just told me that." To avoid a confrontation, I said Sorry for making it confusing for ya, and he ended it with a smug "Exactly." No thanks, or goodbye. The employee wasn't wearing a visible name tag but he was asian and had short side parted black hair.
I wont go back here or recommend this place as long as he's working there.
As well, servers should always give back all of the customers change, unless specified by the customer, as tipping is optional, and it definitely was not an...
Read moreLast time I went here, service wasn't up to par. Figured it was a one-off so came back today. Server threw down the menus in front of us without a word and took our drink/food order 10 minutes later. 3 tables came in after, we waited almost half an hour for food and the other tables received their food first. Server made no eye contact, didn't smile, was short and disinterested. It seemed that we were an exception, as the server was engaged and having conversations at other tables, specifically ones that ordered alcoholic beverages. The girl serving the table next to refilled their drinks 3 times before asking if we wanted a refill. Our server removed my friend's plate without a word and then engaged extensively with the table behind us. I asked for the bill and was interrupted mid sentence. I expressed concern over the service and presented these specific reasons to our server (who is also a manager) & he proceeded to make excuses and did not apologize. I pointed out the absence of me leaving a tip due to the poor service and he simply said "thank you, ladies!" Seriously? Clearly our business isn't needed as the other customers were far more important....
