1st impression/Atmosphere: Don’t let the updated appearance entice and fool you. Odd to see an empty dining room on Saturday mid-afternoon during the summer holiday. Nobody to greet at the front, had to seat ourselves. No menus, no napkins, no waters, nor condiments brought to the table. Waited for several minutes, finally someone came to see us - Waiter asked for our order, but we still hadn’t received any menus. Added delay. Bathrooms: Climb up 2 sets of stairs to reach the bathrooms or use the accessible washroom at the main entrance - the one that smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned for a couple days, and had some dried poop smeared on the toilet seat seemed to have been there for quite a while. It was still before 3pm. Menu: Some great options, sounding all very promising. Somewhat overpriced at face value - Extremely overpriced when you realize what you end up with for the price you pay. Great beer special: $5, 17oz, domestic. Kids Meals: -Only SOME of the kids meals come with a side order (fries, salad, etc) If you order pizza or pasta, it will not come with a side order. Only SOME of the pop is included or refillable with kids meals. If you want root beer, it will cost extra and only comes in a bottle (non-refillable) AND on top of it, after it all, they will charge you $1.49 extra for ANY kids drink although it doesn’t indicate that anywhere on the menu. -Kids pasta with butter and parm was pretty tasteless, unattractive and swimming in butter. (Photo was after my daughter already soaked up even more butter with a napkin.) -Kids pizza is flatbread with sauce and melted cheese. No side order. Food: *Cheeseburger was great. Best part of the whole visit tbh. Side salad contained many pieces of wilted lettuce. Only one choice of dressing apparently - My salad came plain anyhow. Perhaps the brown lettuce was the garnish? Employees: Our server was friendly and apologetic. Unfortunately, he didn’t forewarn us of many of the extra charges, and then had challenges correcting and adjusting our bill. Many essentials were missing at the table and with the food throughout the whole meal. We were patient and forgiving at first, however there were just far too many mistakes in front and from the kitchen … one after the next, it just killed the whole experience for us. Manager was kind and understanding. He offered a discount on the bill which was helpful in the moment. But even after we spoke with him mid-meal, there were still a plethora of slip ups and miscommunications right up until payment.

This has always been my go to bar and restaurant when I want to dine in with friends or family because it is close to home. The food's great, be sure to try out the Crabby combo as appetizers and their pork ribs are to die for. The ambience is perfect for whether you wanna have a quiet conversation in the dinning area or a louder approach in the bar area.If you're into sports ,you'll love the bar area. Located in the middle of downtown, parking is not a problem as they offer free parking to their guests. I have had to rate them less than 5 mainly because the service has been deteriorating over the months.Staff appear overwhelmed and hardly pay attention to and rush you through your order. I hope this is something management will look into. Overall I highly recommend.

Visited a friend in Kitchener and decided to pop into Crabby Joe’s as a was a short walk from the hotel. Nice atmosphere and pretty good menu with decent prices. I started with the Rose Sangria, which was honestly quite good and super refreshing! Then I decided to try their Cashew Chicken - Asian noodles with a Pad Thai peanut sauce, grilled chicken and veg. The taste was 4/5 but the ratio of noodles to broccoli, red peppers, onions and carrots wasn’t very balanced. Not too mention the veg was chopped extremely big and made the experience a little meh in my opinion. Probably wouldn’t order this meal again but I’d def visit again and try some of their other selections!

Went in this past weekend during the UFC fight, bad idea I guess but it wasn't overly busy. Server was rude at the end and didn't say thanks after tipping, even if it was getting near the end of the night please show your appreciation even if you were running around like a headless chicken, I wasn't expecting arrogance on such a level. In the end, our table gave this guy nearly 20bucks from our party thinking he would apologize for the experience and haste, but it was his pretentiousness and endless caressing of his neck tat was all I could remember. Our party really thought he would apologize for the chaos and cold food but it was short, curt and rude. It was unexpected but we all agreed we wouldn't be coming back soon. Food was cold, but we were all hungry and didn't bother to say anything because he didn't check on the service until all the food was done, as if he was dodging until, but who knows. Someone in our group heard the bell go off about 10mins after the food arrived but no one was around to let him know, someone from the kitchen dropped off the food in a haste, hence the reason for hf off appz 9pm because the front bar seems to be priority afterward and the other tables left to be ignored. I'm sure the food would of been really good if it was hot and came out on time but it was UFC night and we were expecting delays but not like this. What a disappointing example hospitality.

Gratuity is earned from the gratitude of what's presented. Crabby joes is not a white glove facility-- everyone understands that, but respect and basic manners are demanded in all forms of hospitality, period. It is a basic human right to respect others and your gratuity will represent that service.

The old servers (prev staff like Josh and Brittney) were some of best in the city and now that is certainly not the case anymore.

Crabby joes has now become the ultimate crabby experience.

RIP fairway location. I see the chain going downhill from here. What do you expect when a pub is centred in the heart of the homeless turf that claims the downtown sector.

Our party won't be coming back and gave us all a sour taste...

Came close to being assaulted inside the restaurant by someone who was clearly under the influence of drugs. He was acting very odd and aggressive, yelling profanities and slamming a door, all because my wife tried to open the bathroom door when he had it locked. The manager’s solution was to welcome him to stay as long as he calmed down. We had to move to the dining room as he kept on staring at our table form where he was seated in the bar. I told the bartender that he was either on something or had been over served and his response was “he wasn’t over served here”. Then they proceeded to serve him alcohol. To make the night so much better, they charged us full price for most of the apps which were supposed to be half priced. Apparently you only get one half priced app (cheapest one ordered) for each alcoholic drink ordered and pitchers count as one drink. Despite neither of our servers explaining this and none of the signage mentioning it, we were forced to pay full price for most of it. The manager is also extremely condescending and had no interest in making any of this better. All he was willing to do was make a second app half priced and the other two full price. This place is a total scam and also dangerous, with very questionable clientele and lower than subpar management. Do not eat here.

Update: This is in response to the owner asking us to email with details. We already emailed this address almost two weeks ago with receipts, photos, etc. when we were asked to do so by the person running your Instagram account. No one replies to this email address. No one replies to emails sent to your parent company Obsidian Group either. It’s unbelievable how poorly run your...
