Farm Boy Kitchener: consistent in cleanliness and friendly & helpful staff. So consistent that I look forward to stopping in when we are nearby. The produce is fresh, abundant and of a great quality. There are always organic options, which are easily identified and everything seems logically sorted, which makes locating things quick. Store brand items also provide shoppers with great alternatives and reasonable price points. And in addition to great shelved items, this location boasts a large ready (food) /take-away area. There are so many varieties of salads and soups and hot and cold table items, that you could easily put together a healthy meal /snack, in no time. There is an in-store bakery and stir-fry section, and after you have selected your fave ingredients/dishes or items, you can immediately enjoy them, in the 'kitchen table' area (in-store seating area, complete with restrooms, microwave, condiments and utensils). (There is also seasonal outdoor seating, but it is quite proximal to the parking lot.) There are a lot of things to love about this location and the staff; and if you are free on Saturday mornings, Kids can hang out /meet a store mascot!

I love hot deli!!! Everything so yummy! And after payment turn left, it is eating space and restroom. Also fruits and vegetables were so fresh! Update #1 (2023.11.25): I was looking for a great cake. I actually went to Cambridge location too. But it was not nice variety. That's why I went to Kitchener location. Here had more variety. I really love cakes at Farm Boy. I don't like too sweet cakes. But here is light taste and not just sweet. So when I need a cake i love to pick Farm boy's one. I picked Le Rocher cake this time. It was sooooo good!!!!! Actually taste was exactly Ferrero Le Rocher. Last time picked a Strawberry shortcake. This one also sooooo good!!!!! I don't like icing sugar cake. It's just too much sweet. But this one was whipped cream cake which is similar taste in my country. That's why I love it. If you looking for a cake definitely I'll recommend here. It's little costly but taste was fantastic!!!

Was very rudely serviced by a sandwich counter employee at Farmboy on Fairway Rd, in Kitchener. I was at the counter for over 5 minutes politely waiting for her to finish trying to fix something (unsuccessfully) behind the counter. Not once did she look up or pay attention to the counter. When she finally did, I suggested she should from time to time look up to see if there is a customer waiting to be served. Forget an apology, she retorted back saying "you could have yelled out"!. She doesn't stop there. I do not even say anything yet she continues and has the nerve to lecture me: "it is all about communication sir". Unbelievable! I then ask for manager and she replied "they are all in a meeting now". How convenient. I asked for the name of manager and instead of listening, she replies "as I said they are in a meeting". I repeated my question and then she calls over this "supervisor" Emily who turned out to be also completely useless. All Emily had to do was relay my complaint later to the manager when they became available (assuming they were truly unavailable at the time). Instead she goes "...I don't handle this, I am just a supervisor...". Like OMG. Not even an apology. Anyway, this Emily also could not answer why there were people shopping around inside the store WITHOUT any masks on, when there is a mandatory by-law in effect now. At this point, I walk away, and while I finish my shopping Emily supposedly pages the store manager. Finally, I line up for the check-out counter and still no manager. As I wait my turn at the cashier line up, this "assistant manager" walks by. When I reach out to her, she directs me to the store manager, as he was finally coming out. I relayed my concerns re: customers with no face mask on in his store and the customer mistreat incident to him. Regarding mask his reply was "once they are in store there is nothing we can do". Well, then why are you letting them in? You have employees at the entrance with carts. I mean there were people in the store who did not even have masks around their neck (as in they took it down later upon entering). They aware essentially being allowed in with no face coverings on.Apparently, customer safety and preventing community COVID spread within their indoor store environment is NOT a priority at all. Neither is fostering positive customer experience. No one takes any ownership, despite the fancy prices. Manager does not even know who works in the sandwich counter of his store. Even though I had provided him with a description of the obnoxious employee, he kept asking me what she looked like, since I did not take down her name. Like its not even that big of a store. They also apparently don't care for customer feedback as I see no response from Farmboy, to any of the customer...

Great for meats. Frequently they have amazing sales on great meats, and you can ask if they are brined, and the ribs aren't. I've bought ribs on sale in other super markets only to be disappointed by poor quality, tons of fat, gristle, and shards of bones. Have not had that at Farm Boy, only great ribs. Their meats are definitely their loss leaders for sure, and boy do I fall for being tired and lazy and wasting my money in other stuff.

I'm wary on produce. It's been so hit or miss with produce. Tried to cut the bad parts out of a sweet potato until I realized there were no good parts. Some fruits went bad before they ripened. They've got a freshness guarantee, but I haven't had the energy or time to go back and get refunds. Can I just make one trip to the store and have good produce, please?

At first I liked their soups, but realized soon that they were all blended into almost homogenous boredom. Be nice to have texture. Also would be nice if their low sodium soups were made with less bitter vegetables. But nah, you don't want salt? you must be on a health craze for kale and broccoli and the suffering means it's healthy, right?

The staff seem very knowledgeable about their sections, and I've seen them explaining mangos to customers, butcher's proudly talking about meats, etc. If you want help or have questions about food someone will help. Me? I wanna wander aimlessly and stare at stuff, thanks for setting stuff up nicely for...

DO NOT SHOP HERE! This is by far the WORST Farm Boy I’ve ever shopped at and because of this horrible experience and rude staff, I will never be shopping at this franchise ever again. The people who work here are so incredibly rude and also prejudice and discriminatory. I also watched someone who is an EMPLOYEE literally cut in front on myself and two other customers in line, just to check himself out. He was so disgustingly rude and was smirking about it after. Worse off, the cashier checking him out said nothing. Then the cashier I had, Yasmina, was grossly rude as well. She proceeded to toss almost all of the fragile items I bought, breaking and bruising items in the process. She then turned her back and started gossiping with the cashier next to her, without even telling me the order total, or even that I could use the machine, as she had ZERO interaction with me and did the same thing with the customers she checked out before me. Not to mention that when I tried calling the store manager after leaving, the guy who answered the phone refused to tell me who the regular store manager is. It’s just a bunch of rude, entitled kids who have no sense of customer service, or even just basic human decency. Good job at getting people to never shop there again and making them decide to the millions of other great groceries stores there are...
