Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service for a $30 Dessert. Sadly it was last visit last night

I’ve been to this dessert spot multiple times, but my recent visit was enough to make me never return. I ordered a $30 dessert that came with banana and Oreo toppings. I asked to customize it by swapping banana for kiwi and Oreo for vanilla cake bites — all of which were priced equally under the same topping category.

The server said only fruit-for-fruit or topping-for-topping swaps were allowed. Fair enough — I agreed. But then she oddly refused the cake bite piece swap with Oreo pieces, even though both were $2.99 and listed under the same category. When I mentioned I’d done this before, she sarcastically questioned whether I’d even been there, implying I must’ve gone to a different location. To top it off, another staff member standing next to her laughed at us. Extremely unprofessional and rude.

Trying to avoid more awkwardness, I just asked to replace banana with kiwi. A few minutes later, the same staff member came back just to tell me that my dessert might “look smaller” because kiwi is less than a full banana — as if I was trying to get more for less. It felt like a subtle dig, and I was honestly embarrassed by the way she handled it.

For a $30 dessert, I expected quality service and respect — not sarcasm, side-eyes, and public shaming over a basic customization. This place seriously needs to train their staff on...

Worst experience as a customer! Didn’t expected a bad customer service at such a renowned dessert cafe. I visited the cafe and there was no one at the front desk to attend us. It was our first time for dine in here. So we just went by ourselves to find a seat, hoping someone would help us. To our surprise, no one even cared for their customers. They just ignored us, despite seeing us waiting for them. We waited for like 5-6 mins just wondering that they are busy and will surely come and help us out. But nobody cared. I then went to the counter and asked whether we have to place the order at the counter or somebody would come to take order or at-least provide us the menu. They told someone would attend you for dine in. To this, when I told them that we waited for 5-6 mins, a rude cashier who just bluntly told me that if you just come and take seat by yourself, the attendant would not come to serve you. You have to stand at the front desk and ring the bell and then only attendant will serve you when she provides u the seat. So she asked us to leave our table and again go at the front desk at the gate and ring the bell and do all the process. That is ridiculous.

So manager Mr.Victor, train your staff for customer communication and as a first time customer for dine in, your staff have to assist the customer if they don’t know your system. But what the staff did was just be careless and let the...

Honestly, this was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. I understand it was closing time, but the way they treated us made us feel like we weren’t welcome at all. The staff brought the bill without us even asking for it, shoved the POS machine right in our faces as if we were being forced to pay on the spot, and started clearing the table while we were still sitting there. It felt like they couldn’t wait to kick us out. No respect at all for customers who are still finishing up.

On top of that, they clearly have no interest in accommodating even basic custom requests. I can’t eat bananas or strawberries, and at the Markham location they happily swapped them for brownies in the chocolate eruption waffle. But here? They straight up refused and said if we wanted extra brownies, it would cost another $4. For what? Just a couple of pieces of brownie. It’s ridiculous and honestly felt like they were just trying to squeeze more money out of us.

And to top it all off, the waffle didn’t even taste as good as what I’ve had before. It felt rushed and just thrown together. This location used to be great, but it’s completely gone downhill. The attitude, the service, the food , everything was disappointing. We left feeling insulted and frustrated. Won’t be...

Quality Started to Change/ Fail. I’m a loyal customer for D Spot; I go there like 3-4 times a week, and I always get the same thing, which’s Nutella Banana Pancakes. However, I used to get it with decent amounts of chocolate and bananas, and now as per the picture I attached from today, the pancakes looks really poor in both quantity and quality. This wasn’t the first time I get it like this, but I thought there might have been new people in the kitchen or something, so I didn’t really say anything until today. So, I’ve asked the young lady nice waiter, and I told her that I usually get my pancakes with extra chocolate and banana, and she said that these are new changes which have been requested by the head office. Therefore, I hope that someone from the head office would read this review and could actually reverse the change as it seems like after D spot has got the reputation they want, they can now go ahead and play around with the quality of the food. You guys would loose some customers and I’m pretty sure that’s not what any decent smart company would want :) I would like to keep going and get some pancakes but I won’t do so anymore if what I would get will look like today’s order :(

We came here for the first time this past weekend, and we can confidently say this place deserves a 5-star for many reasons, but most importantly for the great service we received from our waitress, Amna. She is very friendly, attentive, and makes awesome suggestions. The Oreo Crepe was a 5/5 very flavourful yet very light. Definitely recommend it if you're looking for something light yet sweet and satisfying. The Meat Feast Pizza was also a 5/5. Flavourfull and filling. We also got the philly steak hotdog. The hotdog on its own was definitely 5/5, but the philly steak topping wasn't my cup of tea. Overall, I will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu and dessert options! I also heard the poutine is a must try, and I'm looking forward to giving it a shot. Update: Came back and we had another amazing experience sith our waiter Fahad. He was helpful, trentive and very friendly. This time we ordered the Hawaiian Burger and the Samosa Burger. The Hawaiian Burger was absolutely delicious, exceeded my expectation and I give it 5/5. The Samosa Burger also tasted very good and thought it was a 4/5. The fries was golden and crispy!

Store - Was very clean! We were greeted and accommodated to our seats as soon as we entered. Service - The service was great! Simy ensured our orders were correct and assisted us with our order. She was very friendly. Wait time - No wait time for the line. The food just took a little longer than expected. Waited a good 20 - 30 minutes till our food got to us when the store was pretty much empty. Food - The food tasted great! We ordered two hot dogs, a cheesy fries first alongside our desserts but told them this should come later after we're done with the salty foods. They brought it 30 minutes later which seemed pretty long but it was alright when your with a group of 4 as long as your not in a rush. The desserts we ordered were the for the love of richer (cookie skillet), royalty (waffle), and divide & conquer (waffle), a small scoop of chocolate brownie icecream with milk chocolate palettes and whip cream. Prices - The prices were a little bit on the mid to high end side. Each individual paid approximately $20 per dessert. The additional toppings were $2 which I believe is a bit too high for the amount your getting.
