Euro foods is one of the primary sources for Eastern European and mostly goods from Poland that many Polish and Slavic people in the Waterloo region appreciate. To start with a positive. It really comes down to the employees and one in particular named Tanya. Every single time without fail when we are in the store, I see this woman hustling and working her butt off doing anything and everything to keep the store running smoothly. I donāt know how often she hears positive feedback, but if she does read this, I want her to know that she really makes the experience of shopping there rather pleasant, and appears to be the most confident person working in the store. I say this because thereās been numerous times. Iāve asked other employees questions and they donāt ever seem to know The correct answer; however, Tanya is always on the ball and has always been able to provide answers to every single one of the questions Iāve ever asked about products, product availability, and so forth. She is a true gem that the store should genuinely appreciate. Now, if I can say one negative thing is the lack of competition for the store within the Waterloo region area. That is why the prices are jacked all the time. I used to commute fairly regularly to the GTA and shopped at other stores one in particular in Milton just off the highway. I wonāt mention it here because perhaps thatās a bit crass, However, they regularly have sales on items like cooking oils, jam, and all manner of other things. Whereas I find that this store rarely has anything on sale and if they do, itās near expiration or expired. Of course, the reason for that is that there is no competition. If larger European food retailers like the ones that exist in Toronto opened up a store here well I would hazard a guess that this store would have to definitely compete and buy that I mean, offering items on sale...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEuropean customer service - which means worst ever. Shocking that they don't let customers into a washroom. Only in Europe you will find stores with no washroom in it, greatly there was Mac Donald's nearby, who cares about their customers and have washroom available.
Another disgusting thing about them is that they serve last customer in the line first. Me and my husband went there yesterday about 7:30 pm and first my husband went alone to buy stuff. When he was in line at the cash, another cash register opened up and blond girl - cashier invited not the next customer in line, like it's done in Canadian stores with customer friendly stores, she invited the person behind my husband.
Then I went into the store to buy items, my husband forgot to buy. And exactly the same happened to me. I only had 1 item on me and man behind me got serviced first as the same blond one took him first. So man with whole bunch of stuff was already walking out of the store and I was still waiting with my 1 item even though I was first in line.
I do not think I will go there again, I don't want European service anymore, items are not worth your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in on Monday specifically to stock up on hamburger meat for the summer. I have always bought in bulk, something taught by my German parents. I asked specifically for 30 lbs altogether. I was hit with a dumbfounded look which I realized the woman spoke no English. I spoke in German, held up my hands for 30, had another customer try to help who then lost her place in line and was given dirty looks for that. I understand everything is in kilos but I've never had problems before. Another woman spoke to her and both looked at me holding up a bag of meat and told me that was enough, I didn't need more! It was 12 lbs, not the 30 lbs I had come for and was willing to pay for. I was flabbergasted. Never had I gone shopping anywhere and was told that's enough lady. Unless there was limits. I am a paying customer who I thought the more I buy the more they make. I love the Euro store but this has me very upset and feeling mistreated by staff. If you can't speak English or another of the languages spoken by customers, you shouldn't be behind the...
