Am updating today.......the food is excellent. PARKING IS BAD ESPECIALLY WHEN ALL THE CABS JUST PARK THERE, THEN THE DRIVERS STAND OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR AND SMOKE . IT'S DISGUSTING TO GO PAST ALL THAT SMELL.....SERIOUSLY!!! COME ON PEOPLE. !!!!!. AND TO ADD ....WOULD BE NICE IF THE OWNERS WOULD ACTUALLY REPLY TO THE REVIEWS TO SHOW THEY CARE. SND CHANGE THE PARKING AND SMOKE STUFF. The reason I'm rating it 2 for service, is because the 1 server was very good and really couldn't do more than what she did, but the other one who may be the owner, was not overly inviting. They had reservations for a birthday starting between 2 and 3, and only 1 long table with reserved sign, and she basically said we couldn't eat at the restaurant. My friend said fine, we'd go somewhere else, and all of a sudden she said we could stay but had to be out by 2. We were there at 11:45, and would be done easily by 1. There was a homeless man inside who was told to go outside...he wanted to buy a coffee, but apparently the restaurant hadn't gotten any take out cups with the last order. He was not in our way, and we were seated right in front of the counter. I told the restaurant I wanted to buy him a meal...so did another patron ...they kind of resisted, but finally took the order. Our food came in 10 min. , and after I told the man to come in, he still didn't get his food, and this lady again told him to leave, to which I said he's waiting for some food which I had ordered close to 20 min.ago....there were only 4 other patrons, 2 of which came in after I'd ordered his, yet he still hadn't got the food after we were done...1/2 an hr. I complained and was given the reason they had to serve the other patrons first. PARDON ME ??? I expressed my upset, and paid for the food because we had to leave, even though I was hesitant and wanted to make sure he got it. As we were leaving, it finally came out. Not sure I'm going back because of this 1 lady. A shame, because the food is very good. :( This is not the way to treat another human being. His name is Robert btw, and I shook his hand and hugged him....
Read moreGood service, family operated feels, and unique Serbian dishes on offer. Prices will range from $15-18 for most entrees of varying portion sizes (some quite large if considering the sides). Choices of sides are varied, including salads, french fries, home potatoes, sauerkraut, steamed/boiled (?) vegetables (long beans), and rice. Also "gypsy rice" which is served as rice with a tomato sauce over it. The sides are nothing terribly interesting or outstanding, so it's the mains that you'll be looking forward to.
The majority of the schnitzel are impressive enough, but my group made the mistake of ordering many J&B "Schnitzel". By definition, we expected a schnitzel to be a thing piece of meat, breaded. What we got were four little sausages that had a cheese filling, wrapped in bacon. They were alright, but it was misleading and disappointing for many of us. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the Holstein Schnitzel, which was quite impressive.
It was a toss-up between 3 and 4 stars, but ultimately the price of the meal for the experience and quality you get are not convincing considering other euro-style options nearby. Could recommend if looking specifically for Serbian specialties as a novelty, but wouldn't see myself...

In my experience and ordered many times, best value is MIXED PLATTER FOR 2 but in reality it is for two super hugry guys taht can eat to of food. It will easy feed family of 4 and have leftovers for later!!. i highly recommend to get one or two Serbian LEPINJA WITH KAYMAK, (pita bread loaded with serbian creeme cheese). They are served hot and cut in 4 pieces. It is really hidden gem and need support so we can always have it. Great A++ alternative to pizza, burgers, shawarma, mandarin etc. oh yes they make really good SHopska salad, Tomato, cucumber, green onion, peppers topped with greek feta cheese.
