A Hidden Gem of Warm Hospitality and Rich Flavours
I had the most wonderful experience at this Ethiopian restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that immediately made me feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious—rich, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, and you could taste the love and tradition in every bite.
One of the highlights of my visit was the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. It was not just a cup of coffee—it was an experience. The aroma, the presentation, and the ritual itself were both calming and memorable, adding an authentic cultural touch that elevated my entire visit.
I ended up staying for a few hours to get some work done on my laptop, and the staff could not have been more gracious. They never made me feel rushed, and even checked in periodically to offer tea or a refill. The peaceful atmosphere, paired with the subtle background music and comforting scents of spices and coffee, made it a perfect work spot.
Whether you’re looking for a hearty, soulful meal, an introduction to Ethiopian traditions, or just a warm and welcoming space to relax or work, this restaurant truly delivers on all fronts. Highly...
Read moreAt first glance, Rade’s appears to be just another ordinary restaurant serving the usual fare. However, a closer look at the menu reveals a variety of eclectic food offerings, from omelettes to salads, from pasta to pizza, from hummus to fajitas, and from shakshuka to habesha! The latter items provide a hint of the cook’s northeast African origins and the majority of the dishes, even the supposedly ordinary ones, reflect this. So instead of serving the usual fare, Rade’s serves the chef’s take on the usual fare (plus a few dishes that aren't the usual ones!), which makes for a really interesting and unique dining experience! This is accentuated by the dining area with its selection of comfortable tables & chairs, muted lighting, and Ethiopian ethnic music & dance videos playing on an overhead screen on the wall. If you’re looking for something a little different, give Rade’s...
Read moreMy visit to Rade's was my first experience with Eithiopian food. The food was very tasty albeit a bit spicy for my taste because I'm not accustomed to it. But my table mates loved it! Be prepared to eat with your hands, it's how it's done! There was a loaf of bread offered on the side that was amazing, one of the best I've ever tried. After dinner we had coffee similar to espresso made with freshly roasted beans. Even though it was strong, it was smooth and not bitter.
I loved the atmosphere inside, very charming! The owner/host was a lovely, welcoming man who made our dinner very memorable and informative.
It was an enjoyable evening and I highly...
