Midor Sushi Review
Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Location: Grand Bend ON City
Ambiance: Midor Sushi blends traditional Japanese decor with modern elegance, creating a serene environment perfect for any occasion. The natural wood elements and warm lighting enhance the overall dining experience.
Service: The service at Midor Sushi is top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who are eager to provide excellent recommendations, ensuring a delightful dining experience.
Food: Midor Sushi impresses with its fresh ingredients and well-executed dishes. Highlights include:
• Toro Nigiri: Incredibly rich and buttery fatty tuna that melts in your mouth. • Uni Sashimi: Creamy sea urchin delivering a true taste of the ocean. • Mango Salad: A refreshing blend of ripe mango, fresh greens, and a tangy dressing. • Poke Bowl: A vibrant, flavorful bowl featuring fresh fish, rice, and an array of colorful toppings. • California Roll: A classic roll done to perfection, with fresh crab, avocado, and cucumber. • Omakase Selection: Chef’s choice featuring innovative and seasonal ingredients.
However, the Miso Soup was disappointing—bland and lacking depth, detracting slightly from the overall experience.
Specialty Dishes:
• Chef’s Special Sashimi Platter: An artful selection of the finest fish, beautifully presented. • Wagyu Beef Sushi: Seared Wagyu beef atop seasoned rice, offering a luxurious sushi experience.
Drinks: A well-curated selection of sake, Japanese whiskey, and creative cocktails complements the meal, enhancing the flavors and overall enjoyment.
Overall: Midor Sushi offers an exceptional dining experience with a few minor hiccups. While the sushi and innovative dishes shine, the miso soup could use improvement. Despite this, it remains a top choice for...
Read moreJust got back from my bachelorette weekend in Grand Bend. Had the best time but was treated the worst at Midori. We are an older group so not a belligerent group of girls. We went on the Friday but they were closing soon, so couldn’t accommodate us - no problem! The next day we were going on a boat and wanted to go back for dinner. We called ahead to the restaurant, gave them the number of people told them we didn’t make it the day before and asked if we could make a reservation for dinner. They said we don’t do reservations but come for 6:30 and we can seat your group, probably on the patio. Great! So we scheduled around that, ensured our boat tour was back in time etc. We arrive and the first reaction from the host was ‘Oh this is a bachelorette? We can’t seat you.’ I explained we called ahead, we came yesterday, we were told to come at 6:30 and we would be seated at the patio. The attitude we were given was incredible. The patio was closed and they are not opening it, etc, I asked if we could separate into smaller groups but nope. Again we were not drunk or being loud or anything. It was so disappointing and frustrating. I would of rather had a straight forward response that our group was too big to accommodate from the beginning rather...

We used to come to Midori for years. A friend of ours took us there for the egg rolls, which were amazing, worth all the hype. They also had very tasty and creative sushi, friendly service, and amazing ambiance, especially the outside eating area, cozy and inviting. It was our favourite place to eat in Grand band, by far. We looked forward to coming there, all the way from London, a few times a month in the summer. The new owners are a lovely and very friendly couple, and we want them to succeed, but unfortunately, the magic in food is gone. The new sushi are, I'm very sad to say, mediocre. And the egg rolls, while looking kind of the same on the outside, are just a sad mimic of what they used to be. We will probably still come for the ambiance of the outside seating, when in the area. But definitely not worth driving from London for. I implore the new owners, can you get the old chef back, or maybe bring him back to train the new chef? We are so very very sad that the amazing...
