MY NAME IS SUSHI — Restaurant in Langford

I have been searching for a good 5 star sushi place for a while now, constantly trying different places and I would rate them all 3 or 3.5 stars. Yesterday I did a google search and found this place! almost a perfect 5 stars from most reviews?! My first thought is where is this place? Turns out its literally a 2 minute drive from where I live! I drive by it every day! -Insert facepalm here- I was pretty busy today with my father so we decided to drop by and order take out sushi! From the moment we came in we were pleasantly greeted by the man behind the counter, we then ordered a Dyna roll, Super Dyna roll, and a California roll. The prices were perfect, around $6 a roll which I personally think is a steal as I will explain later. So we waited about 10 mins which was quick, and the chef came out with our order and handed it to the waiter, he then came over and introduced himself to us in a very enthusiastic and happy manner! We had a pleasant conversation and he talked with us all the way out the door! That's what I call amazing service! Now to be fair, I am not used to being treated with that much kindness so I felt a little awkward, but that is no fault to the chef! I'm sure after a few visits I will be totally used to it haha. Now the main question, how is the sushi? Amazing. Just incredible, I felt like I was in japan eating authentic sushi made with love and care. Even though it was take out the presentation was AMAZING, so professional and tasty looking! I can confirm all ingredients are real (no fake crab for instance) Portion size is amazing! depending on what you order you get 6-8 pieces all of which are BIG and thick! if you get the Dyna roll it is as big as your palm! That's why I think 6 bucks is super cheap. I would show this with a picture but we ate it in less than 5 mins!

All in all, this is now my go-to for sushi!! I look forward to trying the entire menu eventually, including those delicious looking yakisoba noodles!

I recommend everyone try this place! You will leave with a full stomach and a smile...

Decided to give this place a try as we always drive by it.... was shocked when the total for 4 rolls of basic Sushi (which was mostly all avocado) cost $50!! I can get the same thing of the same quality somewhere else for $36... won't be eating here again. Yikes!

what you're saying is, because I made a request to leave out ingredients, you charged me DOUBLE instead of $23.69 plus tax if I'd just ordered regular Cali rolls? Avocado doesn't cost 10 bucks each. Even if I'd ordered 4 avocado rolls that would still only equal under $30, which you didn't tell me the change in price for my 'special order' until I picked it up. It was simply 'no worries at all we can do that!' What you're really saying is you don't accommodate allergies unless you're taking advantage of it to make bank, which is seriously disgusting. Do not recommend shady business to anyone.

I'll say it again: stay away from this sushi place and go to one that won't take advantage of you if you need them to leave out ingredients containing gluten products!!! I have never been so disgustingly over charged by any...

We went to try it out based on their amazing reviews and they do NOT disappoint. We like to try a lot off the menu and we started with their miso soup, had deep fried scallops then went to the rolls and had the Lobster Roll, Bear Mountain Roll, Kamikaze roll and the Girl Crush roll. My hubby then had the deep fried gyoza to end it off. OH MY GOSH, we were in heaven, the Kamikaze roll is my absolute favourite. We made sure to get it with the real crab and had the fish eggs on top. I can't say enough good things about the rolls and everything else. The flavours were amazing, great combinations. The service was friendly and quick and the rolls came out fresh and warm. The owner showed us on her tablet what all the rolls were and made sure we were well taken care of. While the restaurant itself was small, everything was clean and we had a great time. Yes our bill was large but you get great quality, amazing service and we can not wait to go back. Our 9 year old girl was with us and she had the small rice bowl and tempura prawns. She ate it all and she never does that. We are very full...
