Great selection of gluten free food and baking. Expensive. Paid $70 for a birthday cake for 8 people. Gluten free bread very moist. Sells out of bread so go early. Can order in advance, online, prepay and do a quick pick up. Langford store is not the main bakery, which is in Victoria. Small pies enough for 2 available. I have to update my review after visiting a few weeks later. Origin Bakery has been my bakery for years, but I now believe they have out priced themselves. The prices are getting too high for my senior's budget. How many are willing to pay $12 for a loaf of Harvest bread. Not me. $14 for a 6" pumpkin pie. Having been to many gluten free bakeries and cafes in Canada and around the world, I have to say Origin is a disappointment for me personally. The quality of the gluten free items that I was able to try being dairy free was very limiting and did not taste good. The flour mixture used leaves a strange after taste and unfortunately most of the products contain butter or some kind of dairy. It would be nice if there were more dairy free items for me to try but unfortunately that's not the case so I can't speak for all their products but at least the vegan and dairy free items I've had were pretty disappointing for the price. I really enjoy the variety of gluten free products at this bakery but the prices are just ridiculous for what you get. I went today and bought 2 cookies, 2 small muffins and a “large” coffee & the total came to $20. Now that’s fine but my $6 coffee was in a SMALL cup and when I asked the barista, she assured me it was indeed their ‘large.’ I may have let it go if my chai tea latte had tasted anything like a chai latte but it was horrible and I couldn’t even finish it.
