Liberty Kitchen Belmont — Restaurant in Langford

May 3, 2022 I’d like to thank the general manager Matt for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to come back and have a full experience at Liberty given the situation on April 30th. We came back on a Tuesday, which was not busy as it was on the weekend. We enjoyed quite a few appies and some mains with drinks. I would say appies were very good as well as the drinks. The mains were ranked differently depending on the plate — the pizza was probably the best main out of the others.

I’d say Liberty Kitchen is a great spot for a social outing for its appies and drinks for sure. The aesthetics of the restaurant are very nice and open concept. I would want to come back on the weekend to really get a feel for the service during its busier hours, but would come back in any event to try the other dishes.

April 30, 2022 Very bad first impression. Came on a Saturday evening for a table of 5, knowing that they didn’t do evening reservations on Fridays and Saturdays. Got there at 7pm to put my name on the waitlist which we were told was 30-45min wait. So we decided to walk over to Starbucks instead of waiting outside.

At 7:10 get a text our table is ready, so we head back over which took us 5mins. The employee at the front door confirmed our name on the waitlist and pointed us towards the walkway to the other hostess, only then to be told that we were taken off waitlist because it is their policy once 15mins have gone by since the text. I explained that we only received the text 5mins ago and the girl apologized that our table was given away and explained it was waitlist policy, however, no other option to reconcile the issue was offered, so we went to Milestones instead and had an amazing service there.

I would have hoped that they would have given us a more accurate wait time, advised us to wait outside, or previously told us that we would need to be there immediately after receiving the text.

I don’t have anything against the people working at Liberty, rather it just seems there’s a lack of floor management and customer service training. I know they are a new restaurant so hopefully management...

Edited to add: Liam, the manager of the restaurant, reached out to me in hopes of making things right. My partner and I came in for dinner this week and not only did he comp our meals, he was also extremely understanding and apologetic about the matter. I noticed that their online menu was quickly updated for accuracy which I appreciate as well. My partner and I enjoyed the food and service from our visit and look forward to returning.

Just got back from Mother's Day lunch at Liberty Kitchen Belmont and felt the need to post a warning. My mother and I decided to split the Spicy Calabrese pizza, which on both the online menu and the hard copy menu, is stated to have banana peppers, salami, pesto, cheese, and arugula. I am Jewish and my mother is Muslim so we both do not eat pork, so we chose to order this pizza, minus the salami. When it arrived we started eating and about 5 minutes later I noticed there was meat on the pizza. I called the server over to ask about it and she said that there's actually sausage on the pizza too, it's just not listed on the menu. We were very hurt to hear this as 1)it goes against our faith to eat pork at 2)we knew that stomach aches were in our near future as it's not something our bodies are used to. The server offered to get us a new pizza and said it would take 5 minutes, but it took closer to 20. As we paid she mentioned that next time they remake the menu they will list the sausage as a topping, but in the meantime that doesn't really feel sufficient to me. We were not offered any compensation for this error and likely...

2nd visit Management acknowledge the issue with our meal from first visit. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great experience. I was generally overwhelmed with how they handled the situation. They really care about their customers. Hats off to Liam and the staff, everything was perfect. We were treated like royalty. We will definetly be back..

1st visit My Daughter was visiting from Ottawa first time we saw her since the pandemic and we took her to dinner at Liberty Kitchen. Looked good always line ups, never been. I ordered the salmon which came with pasta, I asked for rice instead. When my meal came the salmon was way over cooked, so dry I had to wash each bite down with water. The veggies that were supposed to come (spinach and sweet potatoes) was missing and I had to ask the server what happened to the veggies. They did bring some out after asking, these did help me eat the salmon as it added moisture so I did not have to drink the water anymore. I love salmon but when overcooked it is terrible. My husband got the terriaki bowl, it was drowning in so much sauce his veggies were like a big glump of mush in his bowl. Neither myself or my husband finished our meals The only good thing was the wait staff, atmosphere and drinks. Maybe they do better on appetizers than mains. I will give it a try for those but not main courses as you pay a lot for food that I am able to cook...
