Service and atmosphere are N/Aâthis review is for pick up in restaurant order to go.
itâs like a gameââwhat part(s) of our order are going to be wrong? Will it be one part? Multiple parts? Meaningâif you have allergies and those ingredients can be found on this establishmentâs menu? This is not a safe place for you.
communication from the customer Does Not improve results. During the ordering process not wanting onions or bacon kept being confused with not wanting picklesâopening the bag at home it was quickly obvious that I had been given a Beyond Meat Burger. With bacon.
I didnât order that. I had no desire. I actually didnât notice until I bit into it. At which pointâlike most of us who have experienced food poisoningâI started to scramble: there was something off; what was it; running through the checklist.
Once I determined it was a PRODUCT swap and not food safety risk I tried to give it a chanceâ I donât consider myself to be particularly meatitarian.
It continued to trigger alarms of being undercooked. Even after finding the source of the problem (not an uncle burgerâ plant based substitute) it was so soft throughout it continuously prompted me to re-examine the patty and get stuck in the following frustrating rut: remember as I check (again) that it was plant protein not animalâwait what are the guidelines for safe internal temperature of plant proteinâI never ordered thisâassuming the squishy nature is entirely safe I now found myself thinking of Beyond Meat Puddingâwhy does this taste like a beefy-porky hybrid with built in BBQ sauceâthe cycle begins again.
Why bacon? What if I kept kosher or halal? I donât but I never ask for baconâspecified I DID NOT WANT ITâ and I always get it.
1/4 of a cup of mayonnaise. Is that standard for how this burger is made? Is that to âaccentuateâ or conceal the aspects Iâve commented on (see above)?
Conclusion: A&W is one of the few fast food places where the food has some nutritional content and taste. However if ordering actually means: âyou get what we decide to give youâ then going forward (especially given that this has happened before) we may make different decisions.
Beyond Meat Burger specific: if something is mushy throughout a redesign may be necessary.
Surprising customers with items they didnât order and werenât expecting will almost certainly prompt criticismâI was expecting an uncle burger. Because I ordered and paid for an uncle burger.
Not beyond meat pudding like warm...
Read moreI always want to like A&W because of the hormone free beef and because they will wrap things in lettuce for you if you're trying to duck carbs. Today I took the family for drive-through brunch. The two little kids had buddy burgers and fries. The requested extra mayo for that part of the order didn't arrive. Hubby had a teen burger and fries. I had a mama burger and sweet potato fries. I asked for no onions and wonder if they thought I said extra onions, since my burger was loaded with them. It's possible, because the lousy speaker system in the drive-through had me actually yelling to be understood and I could barely hear the attendant who was likely speaking through a mask, making communication less than optimal. My daughter had a mozza burger and onion rings. They made the rings fresh and we had to wait for them which wasn't so bad, but apparently they were pretty salty. My daughter used to work for A&W when she was a teen, so she was a bit disappointed. She wants them to bring back the whistle dog, and the good prices. I spent $46 for that food and none of us got drinks but the kids... Apple juice and milk. We could have spent the same money at Fat Burger next door and got a better burger. But we would have had to get out of the car and try to keep the kids from licking door knobs and spitting on people and stuff. So I guess we paid for drive-through convenience and covid safety. But Mickey D.'s would have been cheaper! I miss the A&W that used to know what it was... A family burger joint with good root beer and reasonably priced food. Now they are pretending to be something else by selling lattes and...
Read moreI went there at 2pm and try to order a burger. The line up was 4 cars deep in front of me and many more behind. To move those 4 cars lengths ahead of me it took in excess of 15mins (seems quite long for a drive through. No biggie I waited, then I was up to order and I was told to hold on, 3 mins went by and I was still waiting, (meanwhile cars are adding up behind me),so I said âhelloâ,and they said âhold on we will be with you soonâ. I replied whatâs taking so long after another 2 mins went by, as at this point I was 20 mins into the wait. Then I heard across the intercom in a whisper like fashion quote â itâs you the reason why itâs taking so longâ. I replied excuse me and was put on hold again. I then pursued to the window to complain to the manger which took a while for her to come and it seemed like she the manager could care less.
It seems to me like customer service is on a down trend and thatâs life, but when they insult you at the drive through, that speaks volumes about that business and to be a franchise well thatâs worse. Thanks A&W I missed lunch and got a healthy order of GFMâŚ..
Bright side Iâll loose some weight not eating a delicious burger with a side of the worst drive through experience Iâve had so far in my 43 years
This review represents this store not the overall chain of stores, unless they refuse to train this store managers then thatâs on A&W as well as...
