Totchos Restaurant — Restaurant in Langford

I understand they’re a new business with room to improve (hopefully) and that’s the only reason this isn’t a 1 star. That said, customer service is a zero. Owners don’t seem to know the bare minimum when it comes to dealing with the public. I’ve had not one, but 3 negative experiences with this business, and I won’t be back for more. The first experience, was the day before opening day and we called to see when they’d be open… The woman on the phone (i believe one of the owners) was very rude and almost seemed mad that I was asking. As someone who had been excited to try it for months, that alone was a turn off.

Despite that, I still went and tried it, and my in person experience was not any better. I was the only customer in the place, and waited almost 5 minutes at the cash register before finally being asked “Oh did you want something?” from the guy behind the counter… The food was mediocre and the portions are small and overpriced for what it is, the “poutine tot” I ordered didn’t even have real cheese curds on it.

I ended up going again because my bf wanted to try it, and again: terrible customer service, and the owner answered his phone in the middle of taking our order.

For their sake I hope they’ll be able to take feed back and learn from it, but it really just seems like they’re not...

They’ve allowed for birthday party rentals in a place that literally only has like 6 booths. What a terrible idea. Nowhere for customers to sit. Secondly, members attending the birthday party (don’t know if friends with the owners or staff) were behind the counter multiple times while I was ordering. The food? It’s deep fried tater tot’s in oil that clearly isn’t hot enough….aka greasy, overpriced, pit of your gut food. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldnt return. It was equivalent to REALLY bad Taco Bell 🤦‍♂️. Promoting your food as “keto” and “gluten free” but then selling people heavy, unflattering, unhealthy food is NOT a way to promote...

We had read the reviews and were stoked to try but I’ve gotta say we were underwhelmed. The tots where crispy but flavourless, neither my husbands poutine nor my breakfast ones had enough sauce and Both sauces lacked flavour. The poutine desperately needs to be made with curds and not shredded cheese. The breakfast version was just one bland flavour and both had an unnecessary amount of grease in the bottom the closer you got. My toddler had the “dippers and choice of two dipping sauce” and was presented with only ketchup and no other options. Overall pretty expensive for small portions and flavourless prepackaged...
