Very disappointing birthday party experience with no knowledge and respect for coeliac disease (severe gluten-free diet). And I don’t recommend for Ramadan breaking fast, since food arrives very late! I did not like the experience of the evening of April 2 at all. I'm not going back to this restaurant again. This is my 4th visit and I'm super disappointed this time. Everything is deteriorating. My son has coeliac disease which took long well explaining to waiter but result was catastrophic. We arrive quite early for the break of the fast. The service arrives late with a dish of fries included, we ask to realize that fries contain gluten, we politely ask to change with vegetables, the dish the second time arrives and there is bread in the dish at the bottom of the meat , something unimaginable for coeliac disease. My 14 years son ended up served and eating 1hour after iftar time with an ugly just meat dish and a poor and small vegetable dish 15min later…which does not worth the 32$ price of dish!! Plus the risk my son was exposed to, since he started eating from the second dish before discovering the big bread hidden underneath the meat!!! In addition the table is right next to the bar, the birthday party arrived very late. The usual waiters show is not the same, the birthday music is not loud enough. The new policy of the restaurant charge $3 per person as fee for the cake we brought. They informed me of this $3 policy, just one hour 1 hour before the event while I booked 15 days ago. Chicken soup was not available, despite being told on the phone to be available. We arrive, we don't like lentil soup so we didn’t have soup, something essential for our break from fasting. The number of dates to break the fast was not enough for 7 persons! I hate the policy of this restaurant, my reservation was supposed to be for Saturday night. When I call back to confirm the conformation email received, they force me to change the date because supposedly they don't accept my 11-year-old daughter, I had to postpone the outing for a Sunday evening(school day eve) Honestly everything was below my expectations and I won't be going back. It is quite a very expensive restaurant and the standard of everything is quite low compared to others except the price $$$ Finally the meat becomes more and more not fresh, fat and bad quality we had very bad and difficult digestion. Given all these inconveniences, we expected a refund of my son dish or any gesture from the owner, something that was not done. Despite that we paid 18% tip which was the minimum choice, ending with a bill of more than 50$ per prs for just a main dish with zero drinks. I will start with the positive reviews and then go to the main issues

1- excellent decoration impressive and elegant 2- The kunafe desert and the muhamara were very delicious 3- presentation of the food is really nice definitely better than the quality! And that is about all I can say positive about my experience in this place…

Service is below 0 stars 0 customer service skills! The server is handing us the plates to put on the table because he wouldn’t move from one spot! We weren’t asked if we wanted to drink anything! 3 plates came to the table at an average of 5 mins apart at least! We weren’t asked once if we needed anything. We wanted ketchup for the fries we couldn’t find to ask! We saw yogourt on the menu, we wanted to order some to compensate for the dry meat we got, he was nowhere to be found so we can order! We got Muhammara with barely any bread served with it and again he was not around to ask for some! Our water pitcher was not refilled once and we couldn’t find anyone to ask.. I couldn’t eat my plate as the meat was burnt (doner plate) and when he saw my plate still almost full he didn’t even ask if I wanted it to go or if there is any problem with the food!! Best part the bills, after punching them in the system he comes to ask if we wanted one bill when we said no separate it was a big deal and he had to go get someone else and we almost felt bad to have even asked for anything as it was a whole issue to separate the meals!!!!

Food is not the best, overrated and sure overpriced! Donner plate was dry and burnt Steak was chewy Adana kabab was okay No salad with any of the plates! Grilled veggies were not grilled they seemed more like steamed but all mouchy! Potatoes seemed like they were reheated a couple of times! Kunafe was really good but on Sunday at 6 they already ran out so we had to share!!

This being said it’s unfortunate that the experience was fully ruined although this place might have excellent potential!

I do understand that we have to be patient after the pandemic but I have been to many other places which haven’t been at their usual standards but also...

The place, mood and food are great , but the manager ALA was very rude impolite toward us and unpleasant service. We were celebrating a birthday party as first day of ramadan, we were 8 adults and 2 kids je didn’t explain the menu , he was not at our service , the other waiters were there during the service and took in charge of us and they were very friendly, at payment he showed up and asking rudely how we are going to pay , he didn’t even let us talk to each other , told him we don’t want to deal with you and send someone else to process the payment , my friends and I took the decision to pay the tip cash to the two gentle waiters that took care of us , but this ALA starts intimidating us by saying I am the manager , I am the only one to get paid here and no one else will do it and we have to put at least 15% tips. I got angry , asked for the owner to come or to be called or anyone else to get paid and all people on my table informed that we informed him that we didn’t like his attitude and he wasn’t there during the service so he doesn’t have the right of tips especially for such a poor service from his side . He yelled at us forced us that we don’t talk to anybody. I hope that the owner see this our table cost was. À 1000$ table and we really loved the place but this manager ALA made it a horrible experience (I tipped the guy who took care of me secretly cash, because he was a great guy and shouldn’t pay for the consequence of his manager) —since I can’t reply to owner’s answer that I am truely sure that this is isn’t his response. This is not true about the bill or what happened , we were 8 adults intimidated by this manager’s behaviour but we are also sorry that went there and we will make sure to spread our review and experience among our friends and friends recessional environment since this is the way you treat your clients.also forcing tips for such a service isn’t your right also your manager starts talking in a gang way to intimidate us so our reaction was due to...
