As a Montréal Foodie, I always love to discover new places and taste a large variety of foods. It goes to say, Indian meals were on my To-Do list.
However, what drives me to write a more refined review and critique has and always will be the service first, food second.
And the shock at how this restaurant managed to exceed my expectations pushed me to drive my review forward.
As we sat, we were offered a delightful atmosphere with just enough pizzaz to wow you. The Interior Design is lively while peaceful. Everything has a designed look and feel and isn't overlooked. It begs to be looked at.
The service is by far outstanding in what they offer. Never with an empty glass, responding to requests with a smile while never feeling as if they're rushed to answer your request either. While the restaurant was packed, the team worked with efficiency and you could feel their teamwork being put to the test.
And lastly, the food. Having tasted a large variety of experiences in the food industry, I learned that you must always go in a restaurant with a very specific level of knowledge. And so, I tried meats that I knew the result of a fine dish. My expectations were set as soon as my eyes looked over the menu. Not only were they efficient in their delivery of the meal, but also in the quality of it. My expectations were washed away after that first bite in the tender meat, the juices and flavour impactful but not overbearing. I have rarely ever felt the need to request the Chef to come see me, but for them, it was a necessity. To congratulate the Chef on his fancy meal, on the love they've invested in each piece, all of it was justified to receive my praises directly.
I absolutely encourage anyone who's looking for their bellies to be filled, for the cost to be worthwhile, for their tongues to dance in excitement after each bite, for the lively environment to evoke a sense of joy in the experience, this is the place to be.
Thank you, to all the staff that served us. It has truly...
Read moreFirst the good, probably the best ambience at an Indian restaurant in Montreal. Now the food, if you are Indian, please skip this place, the food is abysmal. We ordered dal makhani, chilli paneer, dal tadka, karahi paneer and malai chicken. The kadhai paneer had no marination, lacked flavor, dal makhani which is a staple at any Indian restaurant was probably the worst I’ve ever had, chilli paneer was just paneer added with soya sauce. The malai chicken was 7/10 and was the best thing we had here. Overall, we spent around 175$ but the experience was plain up bad. Now, if you are not Indian and don’t care for authenticity or just want to feel the vibe, this place is okay. We are from Toronto and if this restaurant was there, it would be a ghost town since even bad Indian restaurants are better than this.
UPDATE AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE:
I recently read the response from the restaurant owner, and I must say, it’s disappointing—though not entirely surprising—that rather than introspecting on the quality of the food served, the blame is instead being placed on the customer’s palate.
Let me be clear: the food we were served lacked depth, seasoning, and authenticity. The dal makhani was underwhelming, the chilli paneer was essentially paneer tossed in soya sauce, and the karahi paneer lacked any marination or richness. For a restaurant claiming to uphold the legacy of Indian cuisine, this is simply unacceptable.
As for your remarks about my “palate,” I invite you to check my other reviews—there are multiple five-star ratings for Indian restaurants across Canada, especially in Toronto, that do get it right. That alone is enough to show our objectivity. We don’t go out to bash places—we just expect food to taste like it should.
Lastly, if you’re ever in Toronto, I’d be happy to introduce you to places that serve flavorful, authentic Indian food. Perhaps then, you’ll understand that it’s not about being “kind and appreciative”—it’s about serving food that actually...

We visited this restaurant for the first time today, hoping for a pleasant experience, but unfortunately, it was anything but that.
From the moment we walked in, we stood near the entrance for nearly 10 minutes without being acknowledged by anyone—not the servers, and not the lady seated near the main door who appeared to be handling payments. No greeting, no eye contact, nothing.
We decided to stay and ordered food, expecting it to be delicious. Sadly, the taste was below average and did not meet even basic expectations. When we tried to speak to the same lady near the entrance about our concerns, she looked at us and then blatantly ignored us.
Later, when we asked for a takeout bag, we approached her again—same result: ignored. We then asked another server who initially acknowledged us and said she would bring it, but she never followed through. We waited another 10 minutes, still no response.
Finally, a server who was refilling water came by, and thankfully, he provided the carryout bag. He was the only staff member who showed any courtesy during our visit.
Overall, the service was shockingly poor, were not treated nicely at all and the food was disappointing. The attitude of the staff—especially the lady near the main door—was unacceptable. This was our first visit, and sadly, it will be our last. Highly not recommended to anyone looking for a decent dining...
