Louisinana – Review 📍 Location & First Impressions Louisinana is located in Centropolis, Laval, easily accessible by car, you can park around the area or in the movie theater parking . The first thing you notice upon arrival is the New Orleans décor with the jazzy-blues music playing in the background. The atmosphere feels relaxed, lively, elegant and festive making it perfect for a date night with family and friends or that special someone you wanna impress. 👨🍳 Service From the moment i walked in because I was the first to arrive from a party of 3, the staff were friendly, attentive. Our server Yannick: was somewhat knowledgeable about the menu, it felt like he had a few things memorized and that’s what he suggested, it took sometime to take our order once everyone was ready, he would go serve other and than come back at a much later time, I wouldn’t say he was quick on to taking orders it was more spaced out before it was all taken. 🍽️ Food & Presentation The menu offers variety of wide range and focused selection inspired by Louisiana, New Orleans. I tried the waffle corn and fried chicken and swapped my Brussels salad for fries which was a 2/5 at best, the taste was normal I couldn’t taste much of the spice, the texture was very crunchy like hard crunchy, the taste of grease is very present, my impression is that they use the same oil/grease too many times, the presentation is nothing special. The Cajun green beans I ordered, had nothing Cajun about them, it was flavorless a very small portion was served to me, for the price it’s not even worth it. The plat I ordered had nothing special for the quantity and the price, notice i haven’t even commented on the two other guess I was with, because this review would be way too long. just to give you an idea 1 guess had to ask to take it to go and the other was so famished she decided to eat but wanted to do the same. 2/5 not so good score 🥂 Drinks The drink list is good they have wines, beers, cocktails, mocktails . I particularly enjoyed hurricane something something, I forget. I appreciated the generous alcoholic portion in my drink I could feel that a great score 4/5, 💰 Value for Money Prices are expensive considering the quality/portion size/unique experience I felt abused and insulted especially with the main course 28$ and the green beans I had for 10$. The wafflecorn chicken could have been great but the chicken was half crust and half chicken, the grease was too much, the food was darkened by the reused grease, if that’s what you gonna serve make it tasty and flavorful with a nice portion. 2/5 ✨ Unique Touches A memorable thing about the place is the décor the lights the music in the back ground it’s very New Orleans / French Quarters like, unfortunately we we’re there on a Sunday and for some strange reason they don’t have a live band on Sundays so the experience was not the same, so to me that’s a fail because it’s summertime and I thought I was gonna have that feel. 🏁 Conclusion Overall, LouisiNana delivers good food for some but not for our experience, warm service, beautiful décor. I would slightly recommend it with a warning only because I want you to experience it for yourself, it’s a great place for family and friends, couples minus the kids because the prices are too much in my opinion, seafood entrée’s are great they seem to have more skills in that area, I’m not sure i’ll be returning because of the experience we had , we we’re so looking forward to having a great time it kinda fell flat, even tho they offered my guess and I free drinks and removed our drinks from the bill, the damage was already done, super late food, the constant forgetfulness of our table . In our opinion the food should have been waived from the bill because that’s mainly what had us wait for hours while others had the time eat and leave the restaurant. They apologized for the unfortunate experience (manager and waiter), still for a place that just opened a few weeks ago, I can hardly forgive...
Read moreThis is the strongest example of a “meh” restaurant i’ve ever been to. Ultimately, nothing i tried at Louisinana was bad, but nothing was good either.
I’ll start with the pros, the interior decor was gorgeous, although with the live band it’s INCREDIBLY loud, unlike some other restaurants, it feels loud for a purpose. The terrasse is a little cramped with tables, but i’ll give that up to centropolis’ organization more than the restaurant. Service was quite slow but i’ll blame that on new restaurant and computer issues as opposed to problematically slow, our waiter was really kind and professional, (i believe his name was jeremy) he did a great job and handled kitchen issues like a pro.
Sadly the pros kind of end there. Some of the food was meh, some of the food was edging on bad. The Shrimp cakes were okay, but heavily lacking on shrimp, the green beans sort of tasted like blanched frozen green beans, nothing else added to them, most entrees we had were very, very average.
Then, our waiter brought out some honey butter, and told us that the butter and the plates were for some complimentary biscuits, how exciting! The waiter then came by with the basket and some tongs, and placed what i can only describe as a biscuit the size of a quarter on my plate. Guys, the complimentary biscuits at Popeye’s are 3 times bigger. At this point don’t even give free biscuits, it looked ridiculous.
The gumbo was quite good, but insanely bland, upon first bite my reflex was wow i wish i had some slap ya mama seasoning to add in. For 37$ it had 3 slices of sausage, 3 shrimps, and a handful of pieces of shredded chicken. Yikes.
The Burger was fine, but for 30$ it makes five guys look like a culinary masterpiece.
The jerk chicken leg was actually one of the best things on the menu, and one of the only things that seemed somewhat reasonably priced. However we’re in laval, there’s a dozen haitian restaurants that do it better within like a 10km radius.
The fried chicken and waffle… i don’t even know where to start, the batter was burnt but the inside was decently cooked, so oil was definitely too hot, seasoning mix for the nashville sauce was decent, but the problem is the waffle. The menu describes a corn waffle, which contextually you’d assume would be some kind of cornbread/cornmeal/polenta waffle. Something like that! No, it’s literally like, an eggo that someone dumped chunks of corn into, it made the texture disgusting and was just hard to stomach.
That aside, nothing was BAD. there was nothing straight up HORRIBLE. but for the price, i can’t rate this more than 2 stars, i can list you 20 restaurants in montreal and laval that cost less than Louisinana and have better food, better service, better everything. I’ve had meals in this city that have completely changed my life for less than what we spent here. If they cut the prices, or doubled the quality of the food, this could be a legendary restaurant. Until that happens, this won’t be more than another sub-par dinner spot in Centropolis. I hope this...

I usually don’t leave reviews (I tend to forget to do it when I enjoy my times). I came to this restaurant quite a few times more than the fingers in one hand and a came a few days ago and things have changed. CEO! Where is the girl manager!? That is my first question. I remember coming in, in different times of days and it felt like she slept there because you could see the love and dedication she puts. She would come to ALMOST all table and help her staff. She would come and talk to tables and even if there were mistake she WAS THERE! PRESENT! I remember one day out of curiosity asking one of her staff. Does she ever go home (jokingly of course) and the staff told me. Yes she does but she stays a bit late just to make sure all her customers are happy and that we are good and then she leaves (and she comes early too). I thought it was impressive because like I said I came different times of days with different people. Tell me why to my surprise I came to a new nonchalant manager micromanaging instead of helping his staff. On top of that he left pretty early, this is a new restaurant. He barely came to any table. He bossing people around. It was chaotic and hard to watch. This is not customer service! I’ve been to affiliated restaurants such as sergiolino, jack le coq, jack flat, la belle et la bœuf, (moomba back in the days) and much more. Knowing the person (not personally) behind that beautiful concept of a restaurant. I am surprise of the management changes/choices and wonder why? The food was good, funny enough the chef CAME OUT of the kitchen to see a guess (most likely for an issue but the manager stayed hiding somewhere, came out spoke to a staff and went in the back). Having a dismissive manager is stressful on both staff, customers and the KITCHEN. I am very disappointed. I really enjoyed this place. I had the pleasure of being greeted my Marianne and other hostess. I was served very pleasantly by Paula, tassiana, Rose multiple times, Jeremy, Joyce (I do not remember all their name I just keep my bills 😂) and Emilie was the manager that I put her name on one of the bills and promised to give a review (that I forgot, sorry Emilie it was not the review you were expecting, at the time it was good I promise).
If you want a quick bite where every minute count and the new manager just keep on circling around while looking at his watch and making you feel like you not wanted! Accept the challenge! (I gave 5 stars to the food)
Bring back good management and customer centred mindset and attitude!
I will not email the manager like many review is suggesting. LousiNOPE! LouisiNO-thanks!
For the price we paying EVEN if it was a dollar, we deserve the level of love and dedication that was put from the beginning until the change...
