My wife and I wanted to try Souvlaki Bar since we were in the area. We had ordered 2 porc pita plates with fries and salad, a kompanisti, extra fry and extra wrap. Usually I check the bags incase stuff was missing but since we were out all day and in a rush to get home I didn't. Turns out we didn't get our salads. It was fries and rice. That was a nice little let down. Then we are looking for the extra fry...that was forgotten also. I mean how hard is it to make sure my 72$ worth of food is in the bag. We started eating it at home and both looked at each other because the food was nasty. The fries were bland, the rice had no flavor at all it didn't even taste of anything. Then we tried the kompanisti...inedible. It was one of the saltiest things I have ever tried to eat in my life. We had to throw it out. The pitas were like drywall and crumbled in our hands. Honestly the pita wraps at Belle Province have more authenticity than this place. We were both nauseous all night. I had to throw everything that was left over. It's the next day and I'm still burping up that nasty food food and I'm still nauseous. Never again! I get food prices are ridiculous right now but 72$ for that is a joke but I did learn my lesson. Try it out if you want just don't expect...
Read moreLaval is well known for its many great Greek restaurants, but this particular Souvlaki Bar franchise location stands out as one of the top five Greek restaurants throughout the province. First off, the location is phenomenal, with their terrasse overlooking the promenade of the Centropolis, full of people both in winter and summer... Food price is OK when compared to other restos around there, and the inside scoop is that due to its sightly hidden entrance this place is usually seating people while other restos around the promenade are making you wait for a table to open up, so go have a see. The souvlakis and gyros are really well seasoned and tantalizingly good, and their portions are generous (albeit not quite in the meat dept)... Those Greek potatoes are also a must have with any meal! Their staff is really attentive and super nice, often striking up a conversation and really giving you that homey feeling you get when your Greek friends invite you over for dinner. The hidden gem: they offer Greek beer (Mythos & Hellas Fix, if they're not sold out), and you gotta try the meat shovel when you're at least 3 people! Also you might as well ask for their drink menu and try their pitchers of sangria when lounging there in...
Read moreIt was not my first time at this location, but last night the service was terrible. A friend and I came in, ordered right as we sat because we only has 1hour30 minutes before our movie. After 20 minutes with no one coming to see us, Im thinking he was the manager, noticed my face and that I was always trying to get someones attention, came over to see us. We finally got to order drinks. About 10 minutes after, our waitress comes with the machine to seemingly make us pay... But wr never recieved our food. 10 minutes later still no food. When she came back we told her what was going on and instead of saying sorry she went to punch in our order and told us the kitchen lost the bill. I understand its busy, but for a waiter to come see a table only 1 on their own, in 35 minutes is unacceptable. We ended up deciding to cancel our order and leave because by this time we only had 20 minutes to gobble down the food, which is not what we wanted. We made the effort to order as soon as we came in, just a "Im sorry, let me get it rush for you" would have been appreciated. We both have worked in restaurants so we know the drill, when a mistake like that is done the least you can do is excuse yourself and not blame the kitchen for...
