Update - just adding an update for the community. Despite what they told me, that the error would correct itself in a few days, it unsurprisingly did not. I went back in to get my refund. The store manager at this point changed the story and blamed Microsoft's IT glitch. She tried quite hard to convince me of this and was very offended that she couldn't. She was much more focused on trying to convince me they're not a scam than any sort of apology. Although she did begrudgingly refund my money, she told me never to come back, not that I was planning on it. I guess if you are suspicious of triple charges you aren't welcome here lol. She even said she would send a confirmation letter of my permaban. I'll update once I get it.
Previously I had actually left a 5 star review but I've decided to change it after my experience today.
I went inside with my family and made a 40 dollar order. The cashier asked me to tap my car and I did. It beeped and said approved. She told me that it didn't go through and that I had to try again. Once again, it beeped and said approved. Once again, she said it didn't work toy have to try again. I was suspicious at this point as I've seen enough scams in my life but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and paid again. This time she printed my receipt and said it went through.
As soon as I sat down I checked my account and I'm glad I did because sure enough, all the charges went through. I told the cashier who went and got her supervisor. The supervisor confirmed that it happens all the time this location and asked me to wait a few business days for it to correct itself. He refused to issue a refund for the 80 dollar overcharge.
None of this sounded right so I contacted my bank and spoke to a manager who said that there were three individual charges, all approved, and that no refund and been processed. I asked him if there was any way waiting a few business days would since the issue and he said absolutely not. He offered to confirm this to the supervisor with my authorization but even then, McDonalds refused to refund. Even when the police got involved, they refused to refund. The police understandably couldn't do much as it's a civil matter but to their credit they did try to reason with McDonald's.
I'm not convinced any of this was an accident. The reaction from the employees was like they do this all the time. Their answers seemed scripted to a point. I'd recommend avoiding this McDonald's obviously but if you have to go here, use cash. Don't trust them with a digital...
Read moreThere was a power outage at 4:30 today throughout the town due to a storm (If you live here, you know the one). After waiting a few hours, the power did not come back on and my dad and I decided that, since we couldn't cook anything with the power out, let's just go to McDonald's!
I don't go out much, so usually, I order from Door Dash. But since we live several floors up in an apartment building, we decided that making a delivery driver walk up all those stairs would just be too mean and chose to go to and eat in the McDonald's building itself.
When we got there, we saw that a LOT of people had the same idea. Both the inside and the drive through was PACKED! Much respect to the staff working there. It could not have been easy and if any management sees this, I'd say that those workers deserve a bonus for their work that day (Chairs too if they don't have any. I keep hearing about restaurants not giving their employees chairs. It's terrible.)
While my dad and I ate, I realized that it was crowded, noisy, and the tables were too small. Despite that, I had a great time. The chairs were comfortable enough and, despite the noise, I could talk with my dad no problem. I almost didn't want to leave (Mainly because of all the stairs we'd have to walk up when we got home, but I digress).
The highlight was when I checked if they had free Wi-Fi. They do! It was pretty snappy too. I considered watching The Simpsons on my phone to pass the time. Since I don't go out much, I took a selfie and uploaded it to Facebook while I was there to celebrate. As sad as it sounds, this was actually a big moment for me.
In the end, I had a wonderful time and the only real complaint that I have is that there was not enough room for the lines that happened, but I feel like that was mainly due to the...
Read moreThis is not the first time I’ve experienced this, so I decided not to let it go today and leave a message.
Today, December 11, at around 2:50 PM, I visited the drive-thru. The line was a bit long, and it seemed like there was an issue with the order of the customer in front of me, causing a slight delay. When it was my turn to pay, I prepared my gift card, but for some reason, it didn’t work. To avoid holding up the line further, I quickly paid with my credit card instead.
Though it was a brief moment, the cashier’s attitude was extremely unpleasant. She was rude, complained under her breath, and even gave me a disdainful look, scanning me up and down as if to insult me with her eyes. This was very upsetting.
Every time I visit this location, I often encounter her at the drive-thru. Not once has she been kind or polite. Instead, she always gives off an air of entitlement, as if she holds some kind of power over the customers. She is an older, middle-aged woman, and while I hesitate to confront her out of respect, her consistent attitude leaves a bad impression every single time.
I often find myself hoping she isn’t working the drive-thru when I visit, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. Her behavior makes me question whether she has received any basic training for her role in customer service. To avoid further unpleasant experiences, I feel like I’ll have to start placing orders inside the...
