Humpty's Big Plate Diner - Lethbridge — Restaurant in Lethbridge

Not a bad little diner. Quite cozy and the staff were quick to assist and friendly. Prices were not too bad and do reflect the standard of the food. I opted for the French onion soup starter which was a mistake (in my personal opinion). It reminded me more of a weak onion gravy granule made gravy with over sized slices of onion and overpowered by the amount of cheese in the "soup". For the size of the bowl the soup to cheese ratio was 3:1 and the cheese had melted into 1 big clump which ruined the soup. I then chose the pot roast for my main with an extra side portion of vegetables. This was a pretty decent meal to be honest. The veg was well cooked and the mash wasn't bad although I can't be sure if it wasn't packet mash. The beef was good as well, nicely cooked. The only 2 issues are that the beef was cut into 1-2" blocks instead of being pulled or carved and the plates were massive which made the meal look shabby and sparse (but that's me being picky). Those two things aside it was a good main course. The dessert was a different take on a cheesecake and was quite enjoyable and would have been even more so if they had served me the mixed berry I had asked for and not plain strawberry. That said for a 3 course meal with a pot of tea I didn't think $42 was a bank breaker. Had the starter not been so poor it would have been a definite 4, and had the dessert order not been incorrect it could...

On Jan. 28/17 I was treated for a breakfast at Humpys on Scenic Dr. We are both Seniors ages 70 & 77. I understand my friend frequents this restaurant. We placed our order but did not remind them we are seniors with a discount card for 10 % off out purchase. When our bill came I noticed that 10 % discount had not been applied. When I brought it to the waitresses attention she told us that I already received a discount off the scrambler I had ordered & so so not further discount"????...I was shocked at this practice as not only do seniors not get discounts on promotional items but the entire amount was then not discounted as would have been the case had we not ordered the scrambler. The promo applies to all customers so this I feel is a discriminatory practice when you offer the seniors discount but take it away from your entire bill if you take advantage of any of their promo items. Also I am very upset that your waitress would treat my questioning lightly & commented that if we give both discounts we would be paying you back money ?????....so very not true & untactful......Not sure also why coffee pricing is not in menu...except refills...does the coffee prices change very frequently???. so no price in menu..It is not included in meals but they do unlimited refills for your $2.95 coffee/ea. charge. Not a happy experience & would like to hear what others think of...

My girlfriend and I thought it would be fun to check it out, since I’ve eaten here before and had no prior issues. When we walked in we Immediately noticed there was a lot of people sitting down, we thought nothing of it since the restrictions have just been lifted, so we expected it to be busy. After we got sent to our table the service was quite quick, which was weird since it was busy. I ordered myself 3 pancakes with strawberries and cream, while my girlfriend ordered bacon and eggs. She made it clear to the waitress that she wanted scrambled eggs. After we received our drinks we asked if we could take our food to go, since it was pretty busy. The waitress was nice about it, and she said that it was alright. About 10 minutes later we got our food and paid the bill. But once we got home with our food we were SO disappointed. I had 2 pancakes, when I ordered 3. And one was considerably smaller than the other. And it was COLD-. And the amount of strawberry sauce I had was not a lot. And my girlfriends eggs weren’t scrambled, they were sunny side up, she’s a pretty picky eater, so she wasn’t happy at all. The bacon was cold and the eggs were cold. Everything that we ordered was cold. And it was only a 5 minute drive. Food doesn’t go magically cold in a sealed bag in 5 minutes. I’m not trying to be rude, but we were just very dissatisfied...
