Kung Pao Wok — Restaurant in Lethbridge

I can’t come here anymore.Years ago it was delicious, a great place to go. Now the service is bad and the food it terrible. The flavours are good and the quality it fine, the problem is they’re always serving old expired dried out food. My salt and pepper chicken was half dough crumbs full of grease, disgusting. When I ordered my rice I already knew it was a mistake, they had to mix the rice and there was huge chuck of dark hardened rice and the person just broke it into pieces and served it to me, making half the rice inedible. Service was ok at first but the payment was confusing because there was another customer at the machine and then they acted as if I was dumb because I didn’t pay immediately, even tho this other lady who just paid for hers was still directly in-front of it and I asked for a fork as well and without words they pointed at a reachable bucket full of forks. The fountain drinks are gross, my coke tasted like a flat Diet Coke and yet they charge insane prices for the fountain drinks, this is why they offer bottles too and in this case I should have gotten a bottle. It’s also dirty, the glass display had sweet and sour sauce on it from the chicken that all 3 employees chose to avoid. Every space was just kinda dirty and there was so much cross contamination in the row of food. About half of the food had debris of the food next to it, this does happen but when it’s so often something needs to be done about it. Food was good, but for the price you can go to eat at a restaurant. Overall food was decent.

Service was brutal. Lots of yelling behind the counter. My wife ordered bbq Korean chicken (or something like) and an older man served her up. An old lady yelled at him and took some chicken off the plate. Presumably for serving up too much chicken.

The girl who rang us in, rang in an extra meal with ours . She said she would refund the whole meal and then just charge us for our 2 plates. This was done using Interac and I still don’t have the refund in the bank. So now we have paid for 5 meals not 2. Refunds should be instantaneous, no? Feels like I got scammed here.

We won’t be back.

Update: bank did not show refund. I never did get my refund, and we haven’t been back. Definitely feels like whoever rang us in, didn’t process our refund and kept the $$$. In effect we paid for 5 meals (3 via Interac that were supposed to be refunded and 2 cash) and received 2 meals. We had to tried to call restaurant as we were out of town, but no one answered. Still feels like we were scammed. Will never, not ever, be back. It’s too bad the owner never got back to us to make it right. Poor...

Epic fail! I thought I’d give this place another try. Big mistake. I ordered a regular meal which came to over $20 (too much for mall food). The food it’s self was terrible! I ask for a refund and they just said NO. I went somewhere else to eat. I then went back again to ask for a refund. A manager or owner was called. He said since they can’t use the food again I can’t have a refund, it costs them money. I said “ your right, the loss is just part of doing business.” He then agreed with me, obviously not understanding good customer service. I would have expected a refund for such revolting food. If not a refund then an offer for something else or a coupon, but no. I will never go to this place again.
