Subway — Restaurant in Lethbridge

Staff was unbelievably rude. I have never left a restaurant on the verge of tears before in my life. It's hard enough finding places to eat when you're allergic to gluten. Despite advertising for Canada-wide gluten-free bread at Subway I was understanding that locations in Lethbridge did not carry it and resorted back to the usual chopped salad. Staff seemed confused about "why I'd even eat there if I'm allergic to gluten" which they felt was nice to discuss with each other in front of me when I informed them of my allergy and asked they change their gloves. They proceeded to disregard the allergy completely using the same open veggies and meat from the case, then proceeding to cut the veggies on the bread crum covered cutting board, getting openly irritated when I asked if they could just chop it in the bowl because I am ALLERGIC. Then the other co-worker whom had been questioning why I would even eat there in the first place came over telling me they touched everything with their gloves anyways so it's up to me if I even want to eat there still. Finally the salad was brought to the till where I saw that they had just thrown all of the meat and veggies into the container whole. I was already beyond insulted and upset at this point and wasn't going to say anything further, my boyfriend had to ask that they chop my chopped salad, which again was a very irritating request for the employee responsible for my meal. Finally got the car to eat it and they had just tossed the lettuce on top of the meat and veggies that were still completely whole in the less than half full salad container. My son girlfriend got the worse service ever from Lethbridge Alberta his girlfriend is ALLERGIC to gluten and can't eat it it makes her sick. When she went into the store she first ask if have gluten free bread which is now Canada wide having gluten free bread. The woman plus MANGER made fun of her right in her face saying if you are allergic to this kind of food you shouldn't eat here. They did cross contamination they won't clean the cutting board of crumbs when a person said they have allergy to something it should be taken seriously it's same goes to peanut allergy. If you feed a person said they are allergic to gluten there's a reason for it. If you have IBS AND person gluten allgeric can you understand that person feels when goes to bathroom or it makes them very sick. We were from out of the province. This store is the worse service a person can get from Subway. We get way better service from our own province of Manitoba. We would be sure that we would never go to this store again of we ever come back the Lethbridge. She also order a salad and didn't get much in her salad tomatoes look like they were drowning in the salad dressing hard to cut and didn't get much of a salad either it was waste of her money. I...

Sukh was so incredibly friendly snd kind. I scrambled in at 10:59pm and the restaurant was set to close at 11:00pm. She didn't shoo me away but instead tried to make me feel welcomed and valued. She was fast, efficient, and compassionate. She smiled, talked, and built genuine rapport. I felt respected and she didn't make me feel guilty or ashamed for coming right at closing. I really appreciated that.

Sukh was not only kind to me but she was also extremely kind and compassionate to two street people who came to buy something to eat and sit down to warm up. This meant a lot to me that she treated these customers with dignity and respect too.
