This was one of the worst experience at a restaurant that my family and I have had. And that's really saying something. I made a reservation (pics added for proof) for Mother's Day a week before the lunch date with the time slots provided by the reservation service through the restaurant's website (for 2:30pm) and recieved confirmation of the reservation and even received a reminder 2 days before the date. We drove 2.5 hours and arrived at 2:30pm on the dot. When we arrived we were seated and our orders were taken. After receiving our drinks, my partner could overhear the cook staff complaining that we arrived without a reservation confirmation and that we came late and should be kicked out, among other things. Either they thought we were out of earshot or assumed no one at the table understood spanish. At no point was this ever discussed with us prior to seating or ordering, or mentioned that dinner service could not be provided this late (restaurant closed at 3pm). Never mentioned that a reservation was issued in error, which would have been fine if we were told outright. Eating a meal from an angry cook who is actively insulting us while they cook is never the type of meal we ever want or would willingly pay for, which we did at $130. Clearly happy to take our money, but provide mediocre service and even worse food. In all honesty if we were told that the restaurant could not take orders this late we would have happily left and found an alternative option. In the end, my partner did not get what she originally ordered since it would take too long to make, they had to order something completely different since all the other orders had been made. We did eat the food, since we were paying for them. We were never given a takeout option either. Based on the conversation of the employees/owners in the back we rushed to finish our meal. You could taste it in the food that no love was put into those dishes. We truly understand, having worked in the service industry, that you don't want to have to cook and serve when down to the last minutes of closing, but this wasn't the case nor was it mentioned. The restaurant closed at 3pm and we arrived for our confirmed reservation at 2:30pm. This was the last time we will ever eat here or recommend this place to anyone we know.

Where do I even begin to start with this place?! I have to give a 1 star because google doesn't allow for 0 or negative stars. We spoke to the server ONCE and she disappeared to change clothes, brought our food and had to be hunted down by their so called "cook" to settle our bill. I had to physically stand up so the cook would notice that we were ready to leave. The atmosphere: Very outdated, somber with smothering decor. On the plus side we were the only two ppl in there at peak dinner time and had to entire restaurant to ourselves (which shouldn't be a good thing). Food: Wildly overpriced single taco items as well as the rest of the menu. I mean you would need a bank loan to order a decent course meal. Everything was priced individually with no side items included with of their "Main dishes". The tacos I ordered came out cold, dry, flavorless and a total miss for a mexican restaurant and that was definitely not barboca. I also ordered a pork tamale (see photo for current and most likely aggravation for a few days to say the least. The tamale was also cold and dry with about 99.998% of maza with maybe a popcorn size of dry pork (also dry). I also ordered a queso which I'm not even going to describe! The only plus side was they made their own chips. Perhaps the cook is allergic to salt though. A slight sprinkle would have made a tab bit tastier. I can absolutely 100% say the only tasty item in this restaurant was the water and I'm pretty sure it came from the tap! I had plenty of time to debate on paying for this experience of subpar mexican food while the cook looked for our server. I ended paying everything because I honestly felt bad for the restaurant. But, I'm sure if I dispute the charge and show my card company the photos of our meals they would happily give me a refund. There's a sign on the door with a notice of the restaurant moving. Hopefully, it's moving to a storage facility! Lastly, I can highly recommend the water only!

I had to come try the tacos. I am a huge fan of authentic Mexican food. The tacos here are nice, though I found the meat a bit dry. I tried 2 Barbacoa 2 El Pastor and 2 Carnitas. I enjoyed the Carnitas the most of the three meat. I had salsa and guacamole on the Tacos, green salsa added a decent medium heat but the guacamole didn't really stand out too much. the chopped onion and fresh cilantro bring a nice zip to the flavour and add a bit of texture. The tortilla were soft and light and fresh. I look forward to trying out some more of their menu, as this was my first try. I hear that in the evening I may be able to get a nice bowl of soup, which would make me pretty happy. Mexican soups are delicious. The dining area is very small, clean and decorated nicely. If you order tacos, keep in mind they come in threes, and there are more than three options. I overheard two customers, back to back, ask for "one of each" and they then had to pick out which three they'd like. Overall I liked this place but I didn't fall in love. It's authentic and charming and family owned and operated. I would love to see them do well and make a great living here in Lethbridge. So go give them a try, I bet you will like it too. 😊

1 star rating 5/27/2025 Last Thursday evening May 22nd I took my family out for a birthday celebration. I had never been to this restaurant before but chose it because of the good online reviews I had read. I had made a reservation for 5:45PM although this was not necessary since when we arrived there was only one other table occupied. Our server was very , very slow which began to become very frustrating since she only had one other table. I ended up having to wave her over to get her attention and this was after sitting for at least 10 minutes. We ordered drinks, White wine, margarita and an appetizer of Tortilla chips. When the server returned she brought a glass of red wine not white, when I stated I had ordered white wine she rudely said "no you didn't" and refused to take it back at which time I asked for a glass of white. In my opinion, even if I had accidentally ordered the red, it is really surprising that she would not switch them out. When the tortilla chips came it was SHOCKING!! the cheese was dry and looked like it had been sitting on the chips for hours obviously it was not freshly prepared. The guacamole did not look like any guacamole I have ever had or seen, it was close to a mint green color and when I asked the server about this she stated "it is Mexican guacamole", I have been to Mexico many times and NEVER saw this color or the syrup like consistency it had. Because of her rude behaviour and poor quality food we paid the bill, including the glass of unwanted red wine and left, we did not order entree's. This is the first review i have ever written but the experience was so awful that I wanted to share this with the public and hopefully the owners of this establishment will use this review to make some much...
