What I ordered:

2 chicken shawarma dinners with rice and fries as the side.

What I received:

2 chicken shawarma dinners with salad, hummus and 1 side of fries.

Positives:

The hummus tastes phenomenal. The food is great. It seems family run and I love to support family run businesses. Everyone seemed really nice that was working.

Negatives:

The menu board says it comes with 2 sides, I thought this meant you could choose the sides. I came during a lunch rush so there was a lot of confusion on orders and who was first in line. The same gloves were being used for food as well as cashing people out, which doesn’t seem the most sanitary. My friend ordered a small falafel snack pack with fries but received a large falafel snack pack with rice. Didn’t receive a pita with my hummus

Tips/ suggestions for improvement:

I think the menu board needs to be updated that the dinner comes with hummus and salad to avoid confusion. Have a sign “order here” and have 1 person taking peoples orders and starting the food by putting chicken and rice in containers. Have 1 putting toppings on wraps and the rice & salad/ hummus in the containers. Have 1 person wrapping the food up and cashing people out. This would eliminate the cross contamination of gloves being used everywhere, the confusion on where the order as well as save money on gloves & the time people are in the store as well as errors with orders because of miscommunication between customer and staff.

Overall, we will be back. The food was great and this could just be the lunch rush. If they take my suggestions then great, if not then...

I'm likely the only one who orders a Halifax Donair at this place. I used to order from the previous owner and it was excellent!! The Thurs special meant I can eat Donair all day and be full coz they were packed with delicious Donair meat, and loaded with onions and tomatoes as a true Halifax Donair should be!

However, the NEW management doesn't even know what a Halifax Donair is. Ok, so I tell them.

They give me two of the smallest wraps, with at least 40% less meat and much less onions and tomatoes than under the last management. It's essentially lots of bread.

I guess they don't know that when someone orders only two toppings, you still have to FILL the sandwich? Ok. And it doesn't help that the manager is following the person preparing the sandwich to make sure she doesn't add too much.

I went home ate both and I'm still hungry.

Yalla better stop being cheap with the ingredients OR learn how to make a proper Halifax Donair!!! Not going back...

Very happy to finally find a place in Niagara that makes a great beef donair with sweet sauce!!! And very lucky to have this place in Beamsville! I have had the beef donair about 10 times now and it has been great every time. I have to say I prefer the large berg donair as it comes as a true wrap vs a pocket for the smaller size. Meat and toppings are always generous and they are happy to customize it the way you like it. I like a very traditional beef donair with lettuce, tomato and onion with so e sweet sauce. Filling and very tasty! Always hot and fresh! If you have never had a donair before ... start there, don't unwrap it and only unwrap the part you are about to eat. The last few bites are always a bit messy but that is part of the fun of eating a great donair! Definitely a repeat customer and highly...
