Last night the food from the new menu was delicious, drinks cold and thirst quenching, and most people felt the service was good. There were a few new faces in the bar. It was karaoke night, and everyone was pumped to see the pub have some entertainment on a Saturday night. Drinking, eating, singing, dancing, laughing and socializing was the name of the night! I, Pinky’s Karaoke followers, and the new comers were all enjoying our evening thoroughly. I brought friends in, who do not frequent your establishment, because Pinky’s Karaoke was in the house they knew it would be a good time. I was really happy to see a number of regulars stay as well….some left for a bit and came back because they were excited to see some entertainment. There were some new to the Fox people there who joined in as virgin karaoker’s. As I am certain you are aware, being in the bar business (or any business) – you can never make everyone happy. A couple of people complained to “ownership” by telephone, and put a real damper on the evening about 2 hours into the night. Your options were to either disappoint the few people complaining or disappoint the prospective patrons and regulars participating in karaoke as well as the source of the entertainment hired by the bar and a breach of contract. I was surprised you chose the latter! This decision resulted in patrons paying their bills and leaving, some paying and preparing to leave, those staying – out of protest purchased nothing further. Fortunately Pinky’s Karaoke, being the ultimate professional and respectful of the patrons/singers/followers, made the decision to continue the entertainment with a smile on. The couple of patrons complaining left and the entertainment resumed. Most of the patrons remained, but refused to buy any more food or beverages in protest. At 11pm, Pinky’s was formally told to shut it down, she quickly made arrangements with the singers and re-organized the board advising that she was needing to close off the singing early. Pinky’s Karaoke closed the evening nicely, professionally, and left that warm and fuzzy feeling to everyone there. The good news is Pinky’s Karaoke gained some new followers and has many establishments to bring them to. Approximately 70 new patrons were exposed to your establishment for the first time on a Saturday night or for the first time ever on average spending $40 a piece or $2800 in sales and that was only half the night and only a portion of followers. Regretfully, due to a lack of professionalism on the part of the bar, I highly doubt the new visitors will be returning as well as many regulars (the people who pay your salaries) that now question your lack of respect for them and the business they bring to you. I personally have recommended you, brought in business colleagues, family, friends and visitors and over the course of years have spent 10’s of thousands of dollars. Self-respect prevents me from continuing to support your business or recommend it to any entertainment professional, business colleague,...
Read moreMy husband and I went over here for Wing Wednesday and to watch the hockey game the other night. The wings were fine, but the service absolutely tanked. It was a louder night, but not over all super busy. We were sat for over 30 minutes before seeing a waitress, she finally took our drink order and didn’t come back for another 25. If we had seen her running around the restaurant, we would’ve been more inclined to be more patient, as we understand things get busy. She passed us several times, each time without our drinks which could’ve easily been placed on her tray and dropped off. She’d run past our table, tap it and say she was grabbing whatever we had asked for or to take our order, but would take nearly 30 minutes each time to come back. We saw her maybe 3 times, and what should’ve been a quick in and out for some wings, we were there almost 3 hours, had only 1 drink refill and nothing else, never asked us if we needed anything, and you couldn’t catch her otherwise. Also, they cease to mention that pop refills are not free on Wednesdays, which seems like a scam to get you in the end. While it’s just pop, I understand, be upfront with customers so they can decide what they want to do with that information. It wasn’t until we asked for the bill (3 different times) that she finally came and had a second to stop and chat, to which she instantly brought up her children and Christmas coming, which to us felt like tip baiting. Terrible experience, which tanks because the atmosphere seemed like it could be fun, and the food (wings at...
Read moreI felt like a change so hit the Reach tonight for a glass of red and the Friday steak & prawn & caesar salad special for $17.95. Within a minute of sitting at the bar a server (whose name I didn't get unfortunately as I expected it to be on my bill but it wasn't) greeted me with a smile, wiped the bar down in front of me and slid a coaster onto it. Three for three so far. She continued to nail it throughout my time with her friendly attentiveness and perfect timing. It's such a thrill for me to experience five star service. Thank you! I'll be back. I gave four stars for atmosphere because every single one of the nine screens I could see from where I was sitting was showing sports. I would have loved just one showing music vids to accompany the background music. I gave four stars for the food because it was good, fresh, flavourful. I particularly enjoyed the prawns, which were tender and delicious. The bacon bits on the salad were homemade but the croutons weren't.The steak was cooked to medium rare as ordered but I had to spit several chewy bits out which is typical in my experience for a steak at this price point but overall a good meal for the price and...
