The food was solid—just what I was expecting based on the recommendations I got. I ordered a sandwich, and I have to say, the meat was very fresh and juicy. That part definitely lived up to the hype.

However, there’s a serious issue that needs to be addressed: the drink dispenser, especially the ice machine, is in disgusting condition. It was visibly full of green mold, and honestly, it looked like plants were starting to grow in there. It's clear they haven’t cleaned it in a long time—and worse, it seems like they don't care.

From a health standpoint, this is dangerous. When water lines and ice machines aren’t maintained properly, they can develop thick biofilms, which are colonies of bacteria and mold. Green mold in particular can indicate the presence of Aspergillus or Cladosporium, both of which are harmful if ingested or inhaled. The biofilm protects microbes from disinfectants, making them harder to eliminate and increasing the risk of gastrointestinal illness, respiratory infections, or worse.

If you do eat here, I recommend sticking to canned or bottled drinks only. It's a shame because the food shows promise—but food safety needs to be...

I recently visited Dickey's BBQ Pit and was thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the food. Despite ordering the competition plate and a sausage plate, the experience left much to be desired. The sausages tasted like bland, boiled Slim Jims, lacking any hint of smokiness or flavor.

The brisket, supposedly a highlight, was dry and lackluster, possibly due to it being near the end of the day. The burnt ends, touted as a specialty, were anything but impressive, with a horrible aftertaste that lingered unpleasantly. Even the cheese had an off-putting flavor that made it nearly inedible.

The only saving grace was the sweetcorn, which was the lone bright spot in an otherwise dismal meal. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and accommodating, going as far as providing an extra side of corn. However, the subpar quality of the food overshadowed any goodwill generated by the service.

Overall, while the service was commendable, the lackluster quality of the food at Dickey's BBQ Pit leaves much to be desired. It's a shame that such friendly staff are let down by the disappointing fare served at this...

When you walk in, you don't order at the cash register. You order under the TV's that shows the menu. We stood there staring at the menu and then walked over to the register and then they said we ordered back at the same spot. ¯(ツ)/¯

Ordered the family pack but they only had brisket, sausage and chicken for their meat choices. They didn't have any Okra so we ordered brisket and 2 types of sausage with corn, fries and onion tanglers. We also ordered 18 wings.

There was a bit of communication confusion when we went to pay. We had to repeat our order and although they started to prep our order, they had to call out the sides again. Probably a good idea to order at the cash and get a printout of what we ordered.

The brisket was very tender and had good flavor. Sausages aren't too bad. The sides were good but they forgot to pack us our rolls that comes in the family pack :( The wings I thought would be smoked but they're fried and overall it's an ok wing.

I could see myself going here again if I don't feel like smoking my own brisket as the prices...

I came here for the first time today. I had the marinated chicken breast plate with fries and mac and cheese. Chicken - chicken was flavourful but honestly it was cold. The bbq sauce on it is great. Sweet and tangy with a hint of Smokeyness to it. Mac and cheese- it wasn’t great. Think of Popeyes Mac and cheese. Make the sauce marginally thicker and that is dickeys Mac and cheese. Fries- the real show stopper here. These were cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. I asked for a little thing of bbq on the side for dipping and it was perfect. Bun- it’s just okay. Could be toasted and make it better. For real Texas flavour a slice of Texas toast with some garlic butter would be outstanding. Extra points for biodegradable plastic straws. So glad it wasn’t paper. I also love the reusable cups they offer. I dined in and the staff was friendly and polite. The owner made sure to ask if I was enjoying my chicken. My meal with my drink came to $22. Not bad if you’re craving barbecue.

Got the brisket plate with fries and beans as the side order. For a total of $21.46 The fries were soft. Some were crispy but the longer pieces were soft. The beans was pretty good although the amount is small. The diameter was pretty big but the overall thickness of the container was small so it kinda looks like you got a lot of beans. The brisket was 4 slices total. I personally find the taste okay. It was moist and falls apart easily but 4 slices for $18.99 (before tax) kinda seems alot. I can't really compare this company to anyother ones because all the other BBQ pit stores are small mom and pop store. Best I can compare it is to like Montana'd and Kelsey's. The atmosphere, food, and service was great don't get me wrong, just the price compared to the portion doesn't feel right. It seems like the whole franchise is going towards the fast food of BBQ pit house. Overall food was okay, price is not okay in my opinion, food portion is small.
