I wish I had taken photos. Ordered takeout, a waffle with oreos (#3), 2 milk teas, ice cream, egg pudding, taro shaved ice = $46. Most places I go to use fresh ingredients and are made to order, but that has to be combined with quality in order to reflect these kinds of prices. I wanted to try a new place and should have listened to the reviews. Google reviews usually are pretty accurate.
Service: If the business knows the shaved ice can't travel more than 5 minutes outside at 20°C, they shouldn't allow take out for that item. Many restaurants have take out menus specifically for that reason. Additionally, our shaved ice was made about 10 min before our they completed our order (we saw them make it). Our shaved ice was pure liquid when we opened the container.
Super slow service for a Monday night (8pm). We waited about 25 minutes for our order and there were only 4 people ahead of us and 4 people working.
Taste: Good. The tea was the best part. The waffle didn't rise and was gummy. (If it was a special type of waffle ie made with rice flour, then it was good, otherwise, they must have forgotten the baking powder or didn't use enough of it.)
Price for quality: Poor. I wasted $46.
If the quality was there I'd have given 3 stars; if the quality and taste was adequate, I'd give 4 stars; and if the quality, taste AND service were good, I'd have...
Read moreDecent place for Taiwanese desserts. Ordered the q mochi with egg pudding combo and the mung bean cakes with peanut / sesame mochi. The q mochi is exactly like the picture in look and size. They are quite small. The egg pudding was different with the boba. It was a little firm for my liking. The other combo was brilliantly made. The mung bean cakes were firm enough to pick up and had the soft flakiness that crumbles on bite at the same time providing a nice crumby texture. The mochi were nice. Not too chewy from the mochi, but with a nice amount of filling. Also had a winter melon tea with taro balls. The winter melon is refreshing on a hot day. The taro balls have a nice chew to it, but after about half the drink, it does get kind of boring. There is the option of whipped cream which I didn’t add and I think it would’ve changed the taste of the tea. Overall, some really nice creations they have here. Presentation is nice and eye catching. Valiant effort. Not my first choice to go to, but not on the...
Read moreWould have been a 5 five if they didn’t serve the only strawberry cake that had a rotten strawberry on top and sweet soup didn’t spilled in the bag. We order take out and the way my daughter was holding the bag made me want to check on the cake and luckily I did. The cake was just under $10 before tax. Would have wasted our money if we had gone home then find the rotten strawberry the whole thing would be in the garage. Want back to exchange another strawberry cake but that way the last one. We decided to take the Oreo cake instead. They really need to check before serving them especially for take out. The Oreo cake is not too bad, cake moist but the cream is too sweet. Toro paste milk tea we order half sugar with no ice and boba. The toro taste is not too noticeable but according to my son is really good. He found out that he has allergies to toro as he getting itchy after drink a bite of the milk and he refusing...
