I’m honestly pretty disappointed with my experience here.
We ordered takeout last night and stood outside the store, waiting. There was already a group ahead of us, and we thought we’d just hang tight. But after a long wait, no one came out to let us know when our food was ready. We finally decided to walk inside ourselves, only to find that our order had been sitting there, ready and waiting for a while.
The store has huge glass windows, so it’s super easy to see that people are standing outside waiting. They could have just wave at us when the order is ready but instead they just chat, play and do nothing! We weren’t the only ones, the group before us ended up going inside to check, and surprise, their order was ready too!
It honestly felt like they were trying to create the illusion of a busy, high-demand place. By making customers wait outside, it makes the storefront look like it’s in high demand, when in reality, it’s just poor service.
And as for the food, it was nothing to write home about. They claim to serve Cantonese style dessert, but it didn’t taste...
Read moreThe mango pomelo sago disappointed me the most, as the soup didn’t really have much mango content in it, and you’d have to take in spoonfuls with a mango chunk to make up for it. I also felt that it could use a little bit more sugar. As for the temperature, the dessert itself also wasn’t that cold. I was also disappointed in the sago they used; it felt like the cheap brand I see in the grocery store. If you try the sago from the drinks at Coco, you’ll see the difference in that the Taiwanese ones from Coco were a lot more chewy.
The double skin milk was at least cold, but I don’t think I liked anything about it. I mean, I guess in general, I just don’t like this dish, it tasted like slightly sweet cold egg with black rice on top, which didn’t really add anything to the dessert imo.
Overall, I don’t think I’d be back, and I’m just glad I came at the opening time around 3PM and didn’t have to wait in line (a line quickly formed after I got in). Anyways, if you do wanna try it, bring cash for 10%...
Read moreIf you’re planning to dine in, be prepared for a bit of a wait, as the store tends to get quite busy. We tried the Chewy Mango Delight with sago and the Double Skin Milk Pudding with red bean both were enjoyable and not overly sweet, which we liked. However, either didn’t particularly stand out, especially with so many similar dessert spots in the area. The pudding in my opinion was also on the smaller size for the price. Since the store is newly opened and experiencing high traffic, the overall experience felt rushed we felt pressured to order, eat, and leave quickly. The space is also quite small, with only six tables, which added to the feeling of being hurried. Many items were already sold out by the time we arrived, which was understandable since we visited about an hour before closing. However, it would be helpful if staff informed customers about low availability in advance so they can better decide whether it’s...
