I am changing my review to Panash bakery based on my membership experience. They seem to be unclear about what’s the policy for the premium membership. I was told when I paid 99 dollars that on my birthday, I will get two free buns or tarts, went in on my birthday and was told I can redeem anytime during my birthday month so I did not redeem the birthday free buns. When I went in later for redeem my birthday free buns, the lady told me that there is no such policy. I asked for the owner if he is there, and the lady at the cashier told me “no he is not here today.” I don’t really want to stress about two free buns, but a promise is a promise. If all cashier and the owner had been telling me that I will get two free buns for my birthday month, why this specific lady is telling me otherwise and refuse to redeem my benefit as a gold member??? I am not happy with the service, tried to call multiple times during their business hour to figure out a solution but no one picked up the phone. I am not considering going back to this bakery anytime sooner. Hopefully they don’t do this to other gold members.
Be aware when you join the membership, maybe ask them to write your benefit on a paper so the lady at the cashier is not going to tell you “we never give free buns to customers on their birthday”. When other cashiers assured you that you will get your free buns. I have never been offered the poster in store. They should have offered me the poster when I registered for the membership instead of telling me what are the benefits. I found the reply from this place to be extremely arrogant, I have photos of proof I called them during business hour trying to get some information regarding the membership, but here they said I called off hour, how ridiculous this is. The way they reply shows that they don’t want to solve any problems at all.
Just discovered this amazing bakery in the neighbourhood, the staff members are very professional and friendly. Everything is made freshly from the oven. They have a generous amount of bread and desserts to select from. Will definitely come back and...

I went in 1.5 weeks ahead of time to place my order, and showed the staff the inspiration that I saw on their page as the design that I wanted. I used the previous cakes that they have made to base my design off of. It seemed like they understood my vision. Additionally, I was bringing in my own edible images for them to put around my cake. They had no problem doing this. I paid in full at the time of placing my order ($75, which was a vanilla fruit cake with two tiers). A week later, I brought my photos in.
I picked up my cake a few days later and I was so disappointed with how things turned out. It was not how I envisioned it and everything was poorly made. The fondant was falling off by the time I picked up the cake and opened it at home (which was only 15 minutes later), the photos were placed awkwardly around the cake (when I specifically asked them to space the photos out around the cake), the colour of the cake wasn’t what was described (I asked for a space blue gradient), and the random sprinkles on the top of the cake were falling off by the time I got home. The black fondant outlining the photos doesn’t even align with the edge of the photos.
I didn’t have the heart to tell them how disappointed I was with how things turned out. I ended up fixing some of these things on my own.
Taste wise, the buttercream on the outer layer of the cake was too thick and most people didn’t end up eating it. The cake itself was good with the mixed fruit.
Staff were nice and I thought things would have been better. Overall, I won’t be ordering a custom cake again. I’ll settle for the display cakes.
Note: I blurred out the faces of the...
Read moreLike many, we used to go to their McCowan/Hwy 7 location beside Congee Queen but we found that they opened a new one here and it proved much more convenient. Small shop, looks like renovations were done. Once we walked in, I thought maybe they didn’t have much to sell and most of their stuff went to the other location because the selection was quite small. Other than some coconut tarts, cakes, and egg tarts, there was nothing else to be found. Guess I have to come in earlier next time. The building is built with the bakery and the Urban Cove bubble tea shop in the same area. Maybe their idea is that we buy some pastries and grab some drinks while we’re at it. We bought the mango cheesecake ($5.50), mango Swiss cake roll ($1.95), the coconut tarts ($0.95 each) and the creamy chicken mushroom pie ($2.25?). I thought the mango cheesecake was quite expensive although it proved to be delicious, creamy. Only issue was the graham cracker bottom - when I tried to slice it and put it onto individual plates it just didn’t hold onto the cake. I loved the mango Swiss roll and it was not too sweet but had a great fresh mango taste. The coconut tarts are much like the ones at St. Germain Bakery at Markville Mall; delicious and a strong coconut flavour, and the chicken mushroom pie was a great snack, wasn’t creamy though. Only thing I’d really call out is the egg tart price, which was $2.95 each. That’s a steep price. I definitely would recommend this place just try to come earlier to get their entire selection.
PS: the mango cheesecake isn’t actually that small; I sliced them up with fresh mango pieces which they don’t include, the cheesecake is about quadruple the size in...
