First off, I want to set the tone of this review. I always make it a point to rate a restaurant relative to the type of clientele theyâre serving.
This place isnât where you go for high end fine dining (Though, thatâs somewhat self-evident since this isnât Toronto downtown).
With that out of the way, Sushi Sushi has always served me fresh ingredients, the restaurant is clean, they take proper care and attention into food preparation, and the biggest advantage - very affordable menu, which in this day and age is hard to come by.
If you are craving sushi on a regular basis, and just looking for something quick and appetizing, this restaurant has an excellent value proposition. It also offers discounts on takeout orders with cash payment option.
Perfect for people that work/live in the area that need a nearby âgo-toâ. Options in Markham north are limited. But, this place delivers - I highly recommend and wish to support businesses like this that offer great value, good service, and generally do an excellent job at keeping...
Read moreI am a regular customer here for 2 years. Tips has always been optional and we can choose how much to give (as it should be). However, this has changed since I went there last week for lunch. When I went to the cashier counter to pay by credit card, the staff told me that tips was included, but WITHOUT informing me how much or showing me the receipt. Because I was in a hurry to go back to work, I just paid the bill without forgetting to ask, but I somehow managed to ask after I paid, then the staff said "it is 15%". I am totally appalled by how this restaurant would force 15% tips on customers AND without proactively telling them that that was the amount, this act constitutes unethical business practice and if they are doing this to drive away a regular customer, then they have succeeded. I will never...
Read moreWould not recommend their takeout sushi platters, not a great bang for your buck. The rolls were the main problem - they were small and plain. The rolls were either small, one ingredient rolls (think the small cucumber maki) or california rolls - a lot of california rolls, probably 50% of the rolls were just california rolls. The size of the rolls overall were very small too, probably 1/2 of the rolls we get from other spots with similar pricing. The other spots we go to usually also have rolls with more ingredients in them (green dragon).
I will say that the sashimi and the nigiri they included were great, no complaints there, but for a platter that is almost 50% rolls, the tiny rolls ruined it. A 70 piece platter is usually more than enough for my family,...
