Initially, I wanted to hate this place but I have to be honest, they make great cakes. I've tried 2 of their products so far: the sea salt mochi cake and the brown sugar BBT cake. Both in itself have an interesting take on "Asian" flavours and highly addictive. When the sales associate told me how much the sea salt mochi cake was, I almost collapsed. 25-fn dollars for a 4"x4" sponge cake with cream and mochi. That's almost astronomical based on the ingredients used. Typically you might expect to pay no more than 10-15$ for a similar size tiramisu at an awesome Italian joint - which I'm sure takes the same amount of work and effort. What's even more surprising is the lady in front bought 170$ worth of products - no questions asked - just "take my money now" sorta deal (she bought 3 boxes of 4 sliced millecrepe and 2 boxes of mochi cake). The likely reason for the cost of these cakes is the clientele. I assure you I found no gold or pearls in the cakes. The patrons living in that area are mostly the Chinese elite. They don't typically care what the cost might be. If there's a demand for the product, they will pay it without a blink of an eye. One of the popular items is their potpourri/mixed/combo millecrepe box. It comes with tiramisu, matcha, strawberry and earl grey flavours. You can get these same flavours right next door at the Millie creperie cafe but their style of millecrepe is with thin japanese crepees. The millecrepebox comes with 4 slices for 40$ - which by market standards is 25% more than average. Their whole millecrepe cakes are more reasonably priced but I guess if you want to try a bit of everything that's what you'll pay. Overall, from what I've tried, I have a sense of their style of baking and I do understand the addictiveness of the cakes. IMHO, in comparison to other bakeries e.g. duo, Roselle, Ruelo, daango, etc. those other places really take a great deal of time to create each layer of flavour, whether it be a Gelee, mousse or sponge layer. You don't get that here - it feels highly simplistic. Way too simple for the price. I am interested to try their other flavours as well so hopefully it'll be just as good. I want to give only 2-3 stars because the quality/care of the cakes does not equate to their price, but in the end I gave a 4 star because ultimately, I am just as hooked on the mochi cake as those CRAs.

Have wanted to buy a cake for birthday celebrations from here for so long. So when my daughter requested for a cake, just had to make a stop here Ordered the mango pomelo sago cake, which was supposed to be a lava type cake. Had to keep it in the fridge until we were ready, but maybe it was in the fridge for awhile as the lava did not come down and cover the cake With that being said, it was still thoroughly enjoyable! The taste was fresh and the cream was so light and delicious. It complemented the sago, mango pomelo so well They do have cakes, and some other small treats available for purchase daily, so that is something good to know as I was not sure if they have readily available for purchase cakes It’s not the full lineup, but the best sellers are there and if you see or think you want something else, best to call and order in advance Saw they have a mango pomelo sago smoothie drink and that might be one of the top ones I’ve had! It was so creamy and thick looking but so easy to drink! Service was great. Never felt pressured even after leaving and coming back after lunch Definitely coming back here for some pretty looking birthday cakes! A little pricey for the size, but the design and quality totally make up for that! Great job overall! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content

We had the corn cake which was quite good. It could be better if the corn flavour were more pronounced. It was too mild and only the cream seemed to have the corn flavour. The cake inside was plain - good still but no flavour. Not too sweet which was great. There was a lot of cream though, would have preferred a balance between cake and cream. The 5” cake was $38. They included a sparkler instead of a candle and a birthday greeting which was an appreciated touch as we were getting it for a friend’s birthday. We also had the soya mochi cake which I thought had way too much cream and had a stretchy stringy characteristic (similar to okra slime, which is probably the mochi-ness). I didn’t like this one too much. It was on sale as Today’s Special at $12.50 instead of $17.50. The cakes all looked very good to eat, very pretty. But flavour wise, it doesn’t quite hit the spot on expectations on flavour. Service was excellent- the lady behind the counter was patient and she deceived the cakes pretty well giving a list of ingredients. They had many other good looking cakes which I want to try. Take out only.

I was treated to two cakes from Deer Cake for my birthday so I cannot really attest to the ambiance and service but definitely can speak to the quality of their desserts.

The first cake I was gifted was quite a unique flavor - SOY MILK MOCHI BOX. The bottom are layers of chiffon cake, alternated with soy milk cream. I felt like the cake itself could be more airy, but it doesn't dry a lot, especially thanks to the abundance of cream that accompanied it. Naturally, my favorite part of this dessert is the mochi top! The mochi was very chewy and it was so good that I wished they put more (I.e. whole pieces of mochi, rather than halves). Overall, tasty and not too sweet!

The second cake I got to try was their MANGO BENTO. The base is made up of soft and moist chiffon cake, which is much more airy compared to their Soy Milk Mochi Box. Sandwiched in-between the cakes are whipped cream which they advertise as being low sugar and I can believe this because it's minimally sweet. There's an abundance of mango chunks all over, which was very refreshing and sweet; then a sprinkle of blueberries as well. Overall, a very light feeling treat.

These little lunchbox-style cakes were very cute and aesthetic, perfect for a special occasion and guaranteed to make someone's day! By the looks of their website, they have a variety of other cakes that you can pre-order as well - the designs...
