Tangy Cafe — Restaurant in Markham

If you want to feel respected and valued as a human being this is the place to visit. As we approach the front door they are already opening the door and welcoming us in with a warm smile (they they aren't too busy). All the staff greets us with a smile. Everyone seems to enjoy their job and serving you as the customer. If you have any questions they answer them with competence and with patience. As simple as that is, I rarely get both. They also offered our kids some free pocky sticks as a snack. On our way out they open the door for us and warmly thank us.

We've been there around half a dozen times and every time we receive the same consistent excellent service and treatment.

Sadly such respect, kindness, and warmth is rare in our food service experience but this place is a diamond in the rough. A light that shines to remind us of the potential goodness of people. If this service was replicated in all other food services and even in any customer service our world would be a much better place. I've been to Michelin one star restaurants and if this cafe was evaluated for the Michelin star they would definitely pass in the customer service experience.

The pastries and drinks are also amazing. There are some very unique creative twists to common pastries that they make fresh in house. The presentation is beautiful and the taste is great!

Though the physical space is small, the staff hearts are massive. I highly recommend you support this cafe to encourage exceptional service and creative delicious...

Probably my favourite cafe in markham. So good in fact I have added this to my favourites group in google maps.

Coffee / espresso drinks are good. Nice and smooth and strong enough with no lingering aftertaste.

Their in house made pastries are delicious too. I have had the black sesame mochi filled cookie. The mochi was a nice surprise as I didn’t know it was a piece inside at first! Also had their pistachio cruffin which had a pool of pistachio cream and the must try item is their pulls apart monkey bread. This was so addictive to eat. Looks like a croissant cube but even tastier than that imo

Service is on point. The owners are super friendly and cannot mention enough about them. They really go out of their way to make sure your experience is enjoyable even when there is lineups. They also have a loyalty stamp card where if you visit a certain amount of times, you can get a feee item, I believe.

The place is small but the finishing touches they do really make this a modern yet cozy feel. Not much seating, only a bar table with about 3 seats.

Parking can be tough as this plaza can get very busy. But if you’re coming for your morning cup, you will have lots of parking available.

I recently found this cafe run by Taiwanese owners, and I’m so glad I did! The owners and staff were super friendly and welcoming. It was a really nice experience. ☺️

🍵 Hojicha Latte One of my favorites! The sweetness was just right. The hojicha flavor was rich and smooth. Very comforting and well-balanced.

☕️ Americano Fizz Bubbly and very refreshing! Perfect if you’re tired or about to go on a long road trip — it helps you stay awake and feel more alert.

🍪 Sea Salt Chocolate Scookie This was interesting! It had a slightly salty taste from the sea salt, which made the chocolate flavor even better.

🍇 Fruit Custard Danish (Grape) The grapes were sweet and juicy, and the custard in the middle added a nice creamy touch. The pastry was flaky and buttery.

I also tried the Hazelnut Latte on a previous visit, and it was excellent — smooth, nutty, and perfectly balanced....
