Pros: Pretty well done Taiwanese entrees Friendly Service
Cons: Service can be slow for take out
My wife and I have been wanting to try this place out for a while now. Before coming, I obviously checked some reviews on Yelp. A lot of the 2 star reviews I saw were centered around take out service. This review is focused on the dine in experience.
Miss Lin has a very relaxed feel. If you ever watch Taiwanese movies like Taipei Exchanges and Cafe. Waiting. Love where people can just spend a whole day in them, that's the feel Miss Lin has. It feels like a giant porch that you can just sit back and enjoy a drink and some food. There's a good amount of tables and some couches in the back. There was a family of about 10 when I was there and they managed to seat them well.
Miss Lin has most of the items you would expect at a Taiwanese eatery. The prices are pretty reasonable at $8.50 to start. If you order and entree, you can save $2 off a drink as well. Drinks are also 20% off if you order take out and there are happy hours during the midday and late evening where you have BOGO free and 25% off respectively.
We ordered a 3 Cup (Basil) chicken and Braised Beef entrees on rice as well as a popcorn chicken side. I got a milk tea to go with my meal as well. So based on the previous reviews, I thought the wait times for the food would be long. It was actually very quick. We had everything we ordered in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The food was prepared pretty well. My wife is my authority for all things Taiwanese and she says they did a great job on both dishes. My milk tea wasn't as rich as I wanted it to be, but it was still OK.
While eating, I did notice that people ordering take out did seem to have to wait a bit. This place is not Starbucks fast for take out. It's not that the staff were slow, they were just really busy. Still if you're taking out, don't come if you're in a hurry. Speaking of the staff, they were super friendly throughout our time here. It was a pleasant experience here from start to finish for me and my family.
Miss Lin is a terrific place to grab a Taiwanese meal if you ask me. In my opinion, it's best for families and someone looking for a nice relaxing time. If you're in a rush, you might want to look elsewhere. Points for having a giant stuffed giraffe which my kids...

The eye is instantly drawn to the abundance of lush green plants, strategically placed throughout the space, creating a miniature indoor garden. Interspersed amongst the greenery are delicate little flowers, adding pops of color and a touch of natural charm. This thoughtful integration of nature truly makes you feel connected to the outdoors, fostering a sense of healing and warmth that is quite unique. The tea selection here is truly impressive – a vast and varied collection that speaks to a commitment to quality. Each tea offers a distinct aroma and a remarkably good taste, evident from the first sip. What elevates the experience even further is the display of the teas. They are not simply stacked on shelves; instead, they are presented with an artistic flair, almost like individual pieces of art. This attention to detail showcases a genuine passion for the craft. And then there are the snacks! While everything I tried was good, the mochi is an absolute standout and, in my opinion, a non-negotiable must-try. Unlike some overly sweet versions, this mochi strikes the perfect balance. You can truly taste the quality of each ingredient, a testament to the care and attention put into its creation. It feels like it was made with heart and served with genuine warmth. The staff at this establishment are another significant highlight. Their friendly and welcoming demeanor makes you feel instantly comfortable and valued. They create an atmosphere where you genuinely want to linger, whether you're catching up with friends or simply seeking a peaceful space to focus on your own thoughts or work. This tea and coffee shop is more than just a place to grab a beverage; it's a true getaway, especially on a weekend. Once inside this lovely shop, the outside world seems to fade away, and you effortlessly lose track of time. It's a haven where you can recharge, connect with nature, and enjoy moments of peaceful solitude or joyful connection. I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this gem of a tea and...
Read moreThis place has been on my radar for a while, but then COVID-19 hit as well... However, I was so excited to wake up this morning to find out that I had won the Father's Day giveaway on Instagram from Miss Lin's Cafe! I was told to pick it up today (only) and so I went around 2pm. It's in a really easy-to-locate plaza with sufficient parking. The plaza itself wasn't busy today and walking in, I was the sole customer.
First impression? This place must be really aesthetic with a nice vibe when dining in is allowed! It's currently a little messy as things are blockaded to prevent people from going too far in, but a skimming of the decor plus the abundance of lighting really makes the place feel cozy. I'd love to come back for the full experience.
I was gifted a balloon basket and 3 drinks of my choice (pictures available). The process was easy, as a employee (wearing a mask) came over and helped me out. The drinks took a decent amount of time to make and when you see the final product, you're glad they took their time! I was really blown by the products' packaging and the attention to detail in their branding! Very nice. An Instagrammer's dream really.
I ordered the following: Oreo tapioca cream milk black tea - cutest presentation where they used a mint leaf as a plant and the crushed Oreos as soil, respectively. Wishing this had a little more Oreo in it but I appreciate the sweetness level and the chewiness if the tapioca, tasting very fresh. Black tapioca milk black tea - had to give the classic a try. I requested this to be made less sweet (as other places tend to load the sugar) but came to realize that their normal sugar levels are likely very minimal. The tapioca is sweetened though, so either way, it all balanced out. Again, super chewy! Lime passionfruit mint soda - this one surprised me as I'm not the biggest fan of club soda, but the fresh ingredients gave off subtle flavors that made this very refreshing on a hot summer day.
Overall, pleasant experience in terms of mannerism of the staff, presentation of the products as well as their taste.
