Not Impressed – Won’t Be Back to This Whimpy’s Location
Came here for a casual brunch with two friends and left pretty disappointed overall. The experience got off on the wrong foot right from the start. I asked for a chocolate milkshake and the waitress (we'll call her "Lady who didn’t stick around to bill us out because she had to run and buy her kids last-minute Easter gifts") responded with, "oh um that might take a while as she doesn't think there's anyone who can make it.” That didn’t really make sense to me, but okay… I did eventually get a milkshake — or something like it. It was mostly just a big lump of ice cream in what felt like the smallest glass imaginable (maybe not even 400ml), and looked like it was made with a sprinkle of “don’t care.” No silver container on the side like other Whimpy’s locations give you, either. For $6.99? Definitely not worth it.
My friends ordered Diet Cokes and instead of getting the usual fountain drinks, they were handed bottles. According to our server, the fountain pop "tastes weird, like the CO2 is off.” Uh… maybe fix the CO2 or change the syrup? Instead, it just felt like an excuse not to come back and refill the drinks.
As for the food, it wasn’t terrible, just… meh. We had breakfast and all three of us agreed it was super bland and nothing special. Definitely not what we were hoping for from a diner brunch.
Service-wise, aside from the awkward milkshake situation and pop choices, the waitress didn’t even introduce herself, and she vanished before we could pay because she had to run out and get Easter gifts for her kids. That pretty much summed up the whole vibe, inattentive, and kind of checked out.
Won’t be returning to this location...
Read moreI went on April 3rd 2025 for the first time. I decided to go eat there before the anniversary of a friend's passing. Just checking it out a month before. Would have loved to go there with that friend, but you live and learn. I asked if they had a no tip policy and the waitresses said they don't, but I was not obligated to tip. I tipped anyway.
Told her to do the math for a 20% tip on a $21.45 bill. I handed her a $50 and she returned $20.50. The math wasn't mathing, but I left it because I assumed she wasn't getting tipped enough; due to whatever reasons. I noticed a lot of elderly people eat at this establishment. Plus I saw many pickups when I was their.
I put honesty over everything when it comes to service. It only seems logical when dealing with making and serving food. Not sure if I'll be eating there anymore due to that server's level of honesty. Maybe I'll eat their if I'm served by another server or picking-up. Make sure the food is cooked well (my food was, so I gave them 3 stars).
I'm more concerned about the elderly who migh have worse sight than me. Pay with card and double check the amount when tipping.
It's all good though, might due Congee Queen instead. Would have appriciated the attention to service detail and honesty Whimp's Diner!

Read morePrices on the menu and prices on the bill are different. On the picture you see a burger with fries and it cost $9.99 but then they charge almost $4 extra for fries. On the picture you see pancakes with bananas and Nutella but then they charge you extra for bananas. This place is a joke. Cashier is a sneaky woman who also charged us for juice more than it is on the menu. She charged for large cups while brought the small ones. And then stood around and was looking from the corner of her eye to see our reaction when we were reading the bill. We did not say anything to her because the difference she added there, was a part of her tip later on. People who worked at the kitchen also were looking all the time like they knew what is going on. Even through food was ok, we are not going to come back to this place just because of the sneakiness they pull off there. FYI 1 star you get, is...
